Jiji:

A French woman has sued NHK, claiming it unfairly dismissed her after she took a leave of absence from work after the outbreak of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant disaster. [...]

According to the complaint, [Emmanuelle] Bodin was fired unexpectedly a week after she took a leave of absence from work given the French government’s evacuation order issued after the start of the crisis at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant in March 2011. [...]

Japan Times:

[...] Bodin told NHK that she would be back by March 30, 2011, but was notified by a letter dated March 22, 2011, that the broadcaster was terminating her yearly contract, saying she “walked off” her job.

“In order to protect my family, I decided to temporarily leave Tokyo. . . . Prior to my departure I followed the required NHK work procedures, which included obtaining permission from my management,” Bodin said in Tokyo at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan, where she and one of her lawyers, Kazuyuki Azusawa, held a news conference. Bonne chance, Emmanuelle. I hope you leave your former employers with nothing but their boxing shorts and flip-flops! (Actually, they did you a favor by not allowing you back on the job in Tokyo, so maybe you should leave them with a full suit of clothes and their bunny slippers…)

NHK is really stupid not to have solved this in private.
I wonder if NHK cares about this news becoming public?
Too late anyway, NHK reputation will suffer. It is not worth it for NKH to loose its reputation. The woman is right to sue and she will probably win. NHK is also very unkind to have terminated her because she took leave. Many people in many companies in Japan took leave.
I did it, my wife did it. No one got fired.
NHK has very low standards of caring for their personnel.
And now this is becoming public and an international news.
Very basic mistake from NHK HR Department, very ignorant.
I used to work with NHK (as a partner company) and tought it was respecful of its employees.
Now I see that it is just an old fashioned, anti-modern working rules for women, and un-respecful companies.

She won't win because the nucleocrats own the judicial system. In fact they own every branch of government with their bribes and threats.

Better to stay away from Tokyo completely because you never know where the invisible particles linger. Go home to Paris or better yet get a job in New Zealand.

    Sayonara Tokyo…

    Noshi the Nucleocrat sez:
I went to Fukashambles on my holiday, and I don't see the big deal about all the alleged sushi contamination and mutatations. In fact, while I was there, I had some of the best fish fingers ever.
