I have been playing through the all-time favorite game of gamers, The Witcher 3, for the 39th time. This time, something has really caught my attention. See, every play through, I find something new and amazing that really shines for me. This time, I must say it is the immersive horse riding experience. After playing our current second favorite game of all time, Red Dead Redemption, which I emulated on my own to play on PC (I would never touch a console), I thought I would never enjoy horse riding in a game again. For example, sinking 1300 hours into the pathetic excuse for a game, Skyrim, I realized how horrendous horse riding is in so many games. Fortunately for us, the world's favorite developer, CDPR, really nailed the horse riding in The Witcher 3. Honestly, I would put it above Red Dead Redemption. The way my horse wants to be magnetized to the trail and consistently takes the wrong path is so deep and immersive. The pure bliss brought to me when attempting to cross a bridge and being stopped dead in my tracks 12 times on the way over is downright astounding. I truly cannot find one flaw with this game, and it continues to amaze me with each purchase. Being a game dev and avid horse rider, this is simply incredible to me. My real-life horse, Roach, is the same exact way and it is just inspiring to see how fluid they have created the primary means of traveling long distances and the utter lack of frustration that comes with it.
