Probably printed in the full colour sandstone 3D printing option from Shapeways.com if anyone is keen to dabble in making 3D models and printing them out in full colour instead of hand painting them. I haven't printed with this material from them but I have with some others and it's pretty cheap and pretty good quality.

Not even sure if you really need to change the oil filters as frequently as the oil. Brush them down and run them again? Surely they wouldn't break down in their ability to filter out metal particles as rapidly as people change the oil if it is a half decent filter?

Increase the diameter of the steel and brace accordingly. Fabrication would be a lot faster for them but I feel the ultimate reason would be that they understand how to make frames out of this material the most with minimal weight penalty for them.

Well if they have only just gotten their hands on the Michelin tyres that everyone has been racing with just now and the other teams have been playing around trying to get their bikes to work with the tyres for over 6 months I'd say that they will have a good chunk of work ahead of them to get it up to speed unless they've fluked it.

Stoner's bike in 2007 was a steel trellis frame although each frame felt slightly different which I guess would have been down to slight weld differences. No weight penalty of note and if that material is well understood by them and easier to manufacture due to not needing to make castings, they could well alter the performance of their frame to the rider's tastes more rapidly so it could be a good thing for them.

I was riding some Michelin Pilot Sports on a mate's GSXR600 and had the same kind of 'wear' happen on it but it had less in the way of grooves near the centre. I can't see what the tyre profile is in that video to see just how flat the tyre is in the centre of the tyre.
On the GSXR the tyre needed replacement a fair bit prior based off groove depth and then this 'wear through' started happening eventually. To me it looked like it was a transition point between the outer grippy layer of the tyre and heading down into the carcass towards the belting in the tyre.
