I am relatively young compared to all of you guys. The reason I'm sharing this here is because I want to help the only community I care about. I went from smoking a pack a day to one in two/three days. It affected my life. I'm not asking you to quit. (please don't post any bullshit comments saying that smoking is bad.) I am not here to live 100 years.
First of all, I love smoking. I want everyone to smoke 'smartly' to reap the maximum benefits out of smoking. To do that you have to understand how it works.
Chemically, nicotine is a stimulant. It stimulates the mind for clear thought by increasing your heartbeat and activating your nervous system to produce dopamine. Of course it's addictive. Generally, the effects last up to 4 hours by following a negative exponential curve.( effect decreases exponentially with time)
The most important rule: Smoke only when you need it, not when you want to.
When should you smoke? Remember that it is a stimulant. It activates your brain. You should generally smoke when you need mental stimulation (like when you have more work than you can handle or when you need to 'think' about something). [[If you want something to calm you down and relax then try depressants (alcohol).]]
How many should you smoke at once? 99.9% of the time 'one' is enough. There is no need to smoke more than one if you do it right.
How to smoke in the right way?1) Choose a place with zero distraction. Doesn't matter if you sit or stand or dance making sure that you are completely relaxed. 2) Smoke very slowly and only concentrate on it. Don't think of anything else rather than enjoying your cigarette when you smoke. 3) Resume your work.
Cigarettes are freely available. To control the 'urge' of smoking you have to follow a set of defined rules. It all comes down to having the right 'mindset' for smoking.
I smoke one when I have a lot of work to do(which generally happens every few days). I never smoke in social gatherings/parties. I never smoke with someone else. I never smoke in the morning after waking up. I never smoke 3 hours before sleep.
The reason why more than one cigarette is inefficient because of the dopamine release system(think of how having sex after a long time is more pleasurable compared to having it daily;You sort of depend on it if you make it a habit)
