The people who gravitate toward the "manosphere" (I can't speak to MRA specifically) are, for the most part, tremendously insecure, vulnerable, and wounded. It's more of a loosely associated group of people with personal vendettas against women than it is any kind of organized movement... just look at their treatment of female conscription as a perfect example: they were all for it as long as they thought it would piss off "SJW's." When feminists roundly came out in support of it they backpedaled, claiming drafting women would make for an ineffective military. Opposing feminism and broader liberalism at any cost is priority one for these guys.

The women who gravitate toward the red pill and the manosphere are no different. They have a lot to prove, and they see being antifeminists (how unexpected!) as a way to get attention through shock tactics. But you'll notice, they rarely if ever personally follow the lifestyle they prescribe for women: "well yeah y'all should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, but I've given that up to be an advocate so I need to have a voice and a career... its for the greater good." No-one will ever advocate for the oppression of a group to which they belong unless they think they're somehow above their membership, and I think that's what's happening with these goons.
