What started as a team coming together to design aircrafts, is now a NASA award winning team. We are Team TopGuns.

We started our journey in November 2009, with Mr. Sarvesh Dubey bringing together a team of dynamic and ignited individuals. The team works under the able guidance of Mr. R. V. Sharma, Mechanical Engg. Deptt., NIT, Jamshedpur.

Team TopGuns’ members are Prahaas, Ashwanee, Neetika, Nameera, Geetha, Rajesh and Srimanth. We are all pursuing B. Tech in National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. We are from different branches of engineering, all together complete to building a drone or Unmanned Air Vehicle technically. Drones like the one we have designed play a crucial role in disaster management and in surveillance.

The SAE Aero Design competition held by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is held in the USA every year. This year, we want to take our drone to the SEA. However, the institute doesn't provide enough funds to cover the expenses of project. The competition requires the teams to conceive, design, fabricate, and test an R/C aircraft that can take off and land while carrying the maximum payload. This competition provides young engineers like us with a real-life engineering problem to think upon and try their hands on.

The team has dedicated engineer for every aspect of project, such as a designer to decide size and geometry, a computer aided engineer for simulation of model, a fabricator and an electronics engineer.

We require funds to register for this prestigious competition, to source our raw material, to build the product, and also to fund our visa expenses.
