Whose the “world class liar”?
The Donald responded to Hillary’s speech today with another speech of his own. Although this one contained so many inaccuracies, the only people who liked it must have been either YUGE Trump supporters or they aren’t playing with a full deck.
An unbiased level headed brain would be unable to tolerate a speech containing lie after lie after lie. Nonetheless, by a presidential nominee!
Out of this barrage of lies exploding like fireworks, there was one that made my jaw drop to the floor.
“We are the highest-taxed nation in the world.”
Not only is that not true, but the opposite would be closer to the truth.
According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation:
Taxation accounted for 26 percent of GDP, which ranks American 27th out of 30 countries (the OECD average was more than 34 percent).The top five highest-taxed countries as a percentage of GDP were Denmark, France, Belgium, Finland and Italy, all topping 43 percent.
If we paid just a tiny percentage in taxes more, most problems with our cities and our health system would fade away. Look at places like Switzerland, that has some of the highest taxes in the world.
Imagine if our Republican politicians lived there! They would be furious. But the Swiss population doesn’t care too much about their high taxes. In fact, Switzerland is considered the happiest nation in the world.
Although we have the lowest taxes in the world, Republicans are always screaming about even lower taxes. The lowest tax rate in the world isn’t enough, we want lower! Our taxes get lowered 1% – I save a few hundred dollars. 1% for The Donald however, could save him millions. That is millions of dollars not going to your schools and roads.
You would think that Donald Trump, the “billionaire businessman”, would know that our tax rate is so low compared to the rest of the world. Hence, one of two possibilities must be true.
1 – Donald Trump honestly does not know anything about taxes, in which case, he wouldn’t be a good president.
2 – Although he said our tax rate was the highest in the world, Donald Trump knows that it is among the lowest in the world. Why would he say such a lie during this important speech? The conniving deceit evident sends chills up my spine.
Which of the two do you think it is?
The only three industrialized countries in the world that have a lower tax rate than us are Chile, South Korea and Mexico.
The Republican party has folded on a myriad of social issues. But taxes is the one boundary they would never cross. I have heard that these other social issues like abortion, immigration, same sex marriage and the death penalty are only issues to garner votes to support lowering taxes.
Fix the roads of your town or give Trump an extra $3 million? That is a no brainer!
