Disclaimer, I don't hold any Litecoins but as a developer I like Litecoin a lot.

Since the beginning of Bitcoin, before Litecoin existed, I had suggested a direct fork of Bitcoin with zero differences other than having its own chain.

With identical code, but being on different networks, disruption in one chain would let us use the other chain in the meantime. I also thought it could be a good way to experiment with slightly different development but ultimately benefit from each other since code improvements in one could be taken to the other.

Litecoin came along and, while I wasn't really thrilled with how much it changed, it essentially filled this role.

Time and time again as a developer this has proved true for me. During different network disruptions, I have fallen back on Litecoin. The code bases are so similar that any Bitcoin app I make is easily set up for Litecoin.

It has also been great for mixing coins and arbitrage on markets when I used to do that too.

Bitcoin isn't the best crypto currency technically speaking but it has the most faith since it was first and has the biggest user base which is why I believe it will always remain dominant (crypto is more about adoption than anything else). Litecoin isn't the best alt, but it was second and will remain in its position for the same reason Bitcoin remains first. It is simply way ahead of any other alt that is essentially a direct fork of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is upcoming a lot of instability and I have been upgrading many of my platforms to use Litecoin again. Bitcoin will always have these issues and I believe Litecoin will always be a great fallback.

If I invested in crypto, I wouldn't feel stupid holding Litecoin just saying. And as a developer, I hope you guys hold since stable prices mean it's easier to do commerce.

Just wanted to throw this out here. I'm not trying to cause a panic and say Litecoin will be worth millions or anything, but it does have real utility.
