Big Brother is a reality-TV competition which airs every summer on CBS. For up close to 100 days, 16 people from throughout the US are chosen to be locked in a house, and the one houseguest left standing walks out with $500,000.
But it isn’t just a vacation. It’s a game of social strategy, wit and both physical and mental endurance. In order to remain in the house, one has to form alliances with other houseguests, and avoid being nominated for eviction by the Head of Household (HOH). The Houseguests compete in Veto competitions to determine whether or not the HOH’s nominees will change or stay the same, and the nominees must use their gift of gab to ensure that they won’t be evicted at the end of the week. But if the person doesn’t play his or her cards right, the other houseguests will vote that person out of the house at the end of the week. All of this, of course, wouldn’t be complete without a good helping of drama and in-fighting, and this is what viewers tune in to watch.
/r/BigBrother is the community on Reddit where fans come to celebrate and discuss the show. With almost 22,000 subscribers, the userbase continues to grow each year. We not only cover the US version of the show on CBS, but we also follow Big Brother Canada on Global - as well as other iterations of the show from around the world. As fun activities for which we play along with the houseguests, we hold Prediction Flair contests and Pools each season, and the winners of these receive trophies to show off in the subreddit. Also, as the decor of the Big Brother House changes every summer, so too does our CSS to reflect the various themes.
Simply put, as one community member once said, Big Brother isn’t just a TV show - it's an experience, and one we all enjoy.
Past Big Brother houseguests occasionally stop by /r/BigBrother to engage in discussion with the community - and some have even done AMAs for us. Steve Moses, last season's winner, has done an AMA and Ian Terry, the winner of season 14, has done one for us as well.
We're a community who also cares about one another. Our top text post of all time is from a contributor who lost her grandmother last summer. She was a huge fan of the show, and fans alike in the community extended their condolences and poured out their hearts.
And one of the most hilarious moments in the history of the show comes from season 14 when one houseguest, Cody Calafiore, hit himself while he was sleeping. This moment is from the show's Live Feeds, which are available to the viewing public 24 hours a day on Big Brother's CBS website.
