Sticking this back here since some people are trying to meme our donation efforts away: Clinton is doing the exact same thing here. The only difference is that she's getting a bunch of millionaires and billionaires to fund her campaign. If someone really wants to post tendies memes about donations while a guy, who can take 1/5th of his opponent's money and do just as well if not better, gets outspent to the point to where his skill can't compensate for it, I guess I'm fine with that, but you should probably know that you're not helping much. Tendies don't run campaigns, money does.
(If the mods don't like that last part, unsticky my post and make your own. I have free speech and I'm saying what needs to be said. Fuck your feelings.)

I was going to hold this announcement until peak hours but it has started spreading too fast.
Yes! Donald is finally requesting donations. He has vowed to match all donations from $1 to $2,000,000.

      A couple of reasons why (even though we mocked S4P for this) is a good idea.
      General Election campaigns are vastly more expensive than the primaries. Trump is going to need all the funding he can get to fight the well oiled Clinton Campaign.
      By having us (the voters) invest money into his campaign it invests more interest for you since you are actually spending money on him
      This was a big reason why Sanders supporters so blindingly followed him even after they realized there was no chance for him to win the Primaries.
      Donald is going to match all the donations he receives (at least for the next 48 hours) That shows, unlike Bernie's campaign, that he is willing to show us he means business. We each give him a little, he gives us a lot.
      I think this is an excellent strategy when done right, Manafort has been really ramping things up now that he is solely in charge.

      When you are a billionaire, it's not like your money is just in a bank, it's in property and stocks and suchlike, you can't exactly just take 400 million out of one of your companies to use in a race.
      He doesn't need nearly as much as Hillary, he can get free publicity for himself, he is in everyone's heads already and has nothing to cover up and hide.
