Recently, there has been a lot of talk about how bad of a mix The Dao's plan proved to be. From ethereum's fundamentals all the way down to Slock.it's HQ in someone's mom basement, everything ended up seeming like a bad plot after the hack.
In an effort to educate burn victims, I'll be trying to introduce them to viable alternatives.
First and most important thing The Dao's victims should know about. It is the kind of money that pulled the world out of depression and has kept moving it ever since. It's not backed by euphoria but rather by trusted institutions that have been in existence for ages. You can rest assured that 1$ will always be 1$ (as in 1$=1$).
The Law
Everyone is free to study the law. In many European countries studying to become a lawyer is even as inexpensive as free thanks to many kind hearted tax payers that don't use cryptocurrencies.
The Judicial System
The most commonly used system for resolution of serious disputes. Although, any lawyer would tell you that resorting to it to resolve disputes would normally be against your rational self interest when you could simply rely on a legally binding contract. This brings us to the next and most important topic.
Actual Contracts™
The most advanced way of formalizing arrangements between two or more parties.
The Fundamentals of Actual Contracts™:
Environment:
Any place where pens and papers are of use can be suitable for contact creation.
The language:
The extremely-high-level language of English in its written form can be used to create contracts readable by humans.
Experience required:
In general, most human beings are able to conceptualize arrangements. Experts like lawyers can help with bringing those into a legally binding contract.
