Mahrez over Miki? (self.reddevils)

I was excited as the next guy when Raiola announced Miki wanted to join us, but after hearing numerous Dortmund/Bundesliga fan takes, I am weary.

Of course every transfer is risky, and I do think that Miki would succeed in our team at RW, but he is said to be a confidence player who can be plagued by inconsistencies and struggles in big games; Dortmund fans referenced how he opted not to take a penalty in the cup final shoot out.

Having watched most of LC's games last season, I can tell you Mahrez is absolute class. He is younger than Miki and obviously Prem Proven. I get that we don't have CL and LC does, but if we are going to drop 30 million pounds on a player in the last year of his contract, surely we should try and lure Riyad with a boatload of money. I think we at least stand a chance at securing the move.

Mahrez on the fact that he's premier league proven , many stars from different leagues need some time to adjust.

but tbh morgan schneiderlin was premier league proven and didnt exactly set man utd midfield alight. I think the main thing is does he fit the profile of a mourinho player and I'm not 100% sure

Mahrez for me. He'll deek Kompany out of his shorts and shinguards before leathering it into the the top left.

Honestly don't care. Both great players. Although Mkhytarian is probably the less risky one since he's already proven that he's a top winger. Mahrez' had one season.

TBF, Mkhytarian also has just one special season. He's less risky if we end up paying £25, Mahrez will cost more.

Most I think would prefer Mahrez but there's been a massive absence of rumours (bar the Arsenal one) which makes me think he's either indicated he's not interested in a move it has a very strict release clause

Pardon me, but what is his clause at? Even so, i dont think we will get him. looking back for our transfers in recent history, it just doesnt feel like it.

Don't know for sure obviously but it'll be reasonable since they set it when they were relegation threatened. I'd estimate somewhere between 15 and 25 million pounds if they haven't changed it.

While miki has had an insane season he's extremely mentally fragile. I had a conversation on the dortmund sub a day or two ago and you can go check it out. Their opinions are pretty varied and was definitely an interesting read

If we get either I wouldn't care which. We need an established top quality right winger. Not fussed which I just want a right winger pls.
