If they play it smart they suck out just enough that the moment the EU wants it paid back, like by taking refugees, then they just split off and make an eastern bloc enjoying all possible benefits but no harm anymore...

Or thats it what id like to think about as the fuckers who wasted our money would get platinum mad.

Yeah, actually pretty big anti-EU attitude. For example we just held a referendum about whether we agree if the EU formed an association agreement with ukraine. The overwhelming majority voted against it. This was not really against Ukraine but more against the EU that isnt democratic at all and wants to expand and expand while the rich countries pay the price. But no surprise here, they ignore us of course because why would you listen to if you can undemocratic shove everything to out throats.

Why are they butthurt? Roof over their heads, away from frontlines and Sharia law - what more do they see as their God-given necessities?

We had a funnier run-in with Chechen refugees before we were allowed to join EU.

Said refugees intended to travel all the way to Germany in order to soak up their gibs, but they were stopped at Poland-EU border and transfered to our refugee shelter. Shelter wasn't exactly a hotel, but it wasn't a squalid mess either, yet Chechens decided to make an example out of it to state that they do NOT intend to remain in Poland and vandalized it to the point of leaving only hollowed-out slum behind. Having crossed the proverbial Rubikon, they boarded the trains in order to travel to Strasbourg so that they could sue Poland for such unhospitable conditions.

As you might have guessed already, they were once more stopped at Poland-EU border and returned to the very shelter they worked so hard to devastate.

Beat this shit

The red stripe has of now been recoloured 3 times,it was initially blue (initially is about 5 months ago),it always ends up being little chips. Not to mention that they always go right over the parking spots and they are fully useless, they've also used shitload of money on this (not that they've actually used it,half went to someone's pockets),don't know whether it's EU money or not

Next you've got that small lane next to the cars which is too small and you will get crushed by cars going on the road and longer parked cars

This is just one picture, there's these cunts everywhere, they've put fucking steel benches which freeze you in the winter and burn in you in the summer along every one of these useless misplaced tracks with a smug "I <3 Arad" sign next to them, they've also got a nice one though, wide enough and made out of concrete that also happens to go past the shittiest gypsy slum ghetto where people probably spit on you.

You've also got a blue fully discoloured by now track running through the sidewalk on one street ,making it the walking space tight as well the biking space, there are also electricity poles in the middle of the tracks for the record

As for other bullshit, the council has removed the old lights and benches and replaced them with fugly cracking randomly placed new lights and benches, flowerpots, whatever that's cost a lost of money

We have a small lake which was nice af when they've renovated the area around it,they've put speakers around it,there's classic music, there were lights which coloured the water, now the water is filthy and the park around it is a new yet derelict place,it looks like shit

Old buildings that were renovated 3 years ago already have ornaments falling off them

The best one is that since 2-3 years it smells like shit (literally like shit) in a part of the town because the wastewater treatment plant doesn't properly work

This is where your tax money is going to,western Europeans

Might have to do with cost vs. long term value of time.

A long curvy road down the mountain and another long curvy back up that takes 45 min. vs a 5 minute transit over the bridge.

Granted, the hills in that photo don't appear very steep.

I remember that guy who owns the Ambassador bridge got pissed off that the Canadian government wanted to fully fund another bridge to Detroit. It sounds like a good investment, frankly. So much traffic goes over that.

that's a ring though its not too much. we used our funds to upgrade our waterfront, turning industrial wasteland and parking lots into a nature zone right beside the busiest areas of toronto. also reviving my hometown hamilton with like 3 new hospitals and turning the downtown area from detroit-level shit to a nice, liveable area.

its going pretty gr8, our province has a pretty terrible leader but everything works well and efficiently.

It's great but you don't see that much from car, however for some occasion crossing on foot is allowed and then it's great.
The pillars can be seen from very far away pic related but for once it honestly don't bother me, the bridge is impressive enough to compensate

Yeah, I was talking more about the tunnels, it could have been cheaper and easier.
The hills are 8-12 meter high, the soil there is very loose, sandy type, one of the tunnels actually collapsed during the construction.

The bridge is retarded as well, the height difference between the two hills is just 80m, with the distance of ~2km. A tunnel+small bridge or just nothing at all would have been cheaper and not any less convenient.

I never quite understood why it was so jam, it's a small city, and it's the entrance to the plateaux of the Massif Central a.k.a not many people living there. And people who want to go to Northern France (or the opposite) usually prefer to go around the Massif even if there's a highway. Also the area is touristic enough but nothing like the not so far coast.
I have several pics of nice bridges in France otherwise

Well, I guess you know Japan has been in a 20 years long economic stagnation? The only way they can think of dealing with it is to print money. Their last plan from 3/4 years ago was pretty much the equivalent of multiplying the monetary mass in the country by 2.

So, to prevent unemployment and artificially keep jobs from being detroyed, they just pump money to building contractors to build highways that pierce through mountains and run over valleys to any deserted dumbfuck village in some remote place where at best 10 old geezers live.

Of course, it's also a nice way for politics to sneakily give monies to their friends amongst said contractors, overbilling, getting kickbacks and funding yakuza. Japan is quite bad on this points, more than in other first world countries.

>I never quite understood why it was so jam

It's one of the main road from northern France to southern France. Thousands of trucks and cars pass here everyday. Multiply by ten in busy summer weekends. The valley is steep.

And the city being small is irrelevant: 1 simple red light is enough to stop dozens of thousands vehicle. Now imagine a small city that have many of them. Here you go, you have your traffic jam.

Note that's it's not the only shit point in the area. La Cavalerie, in the same département, is just as bad as Millau was.
>>
>>60911251
They building a bridge in La Cavalerie too?
>>
>>60903046

>>
>>60911251
But La Cavalerie is just a village, do you really have to cross it like Millau before the bridge ?
>>
>>60911405
No.

Maybe they built something to drive around, I didn't check since the last time I passed here.

>>60910795
If you want to drive through funny roads, check the Combe-Laval road. That's the most beautiful road in the Alps, but you'd better need some balls and not having vertigo.
Check this starting 2 minutes, and be aware that the video is not making it justice.

Infrastructure can make a huge difference if built in the right place. I've heard Boston was even worse before the big dig was finished. Seeing it now I can't imagine. Come to think of it, I can't imagine what it was like trying to drive here without a GPS. City is fucked. I take the subway for a reason.
>>
>>60911724
as I said, it doesn't matter: a single red light is enough to fuck everything

in fact you don't even need a red light: just slow down to 20 mk/h to pass through it and the thousands of vehicles behind you will have to do so in a chain reaction, triggering a several kilometers long traffic jam

>>
>>60911876
Reminds me of some of the roads in the Appalachians. One time I was stuck driving a truck full of shit in fog. I thought I was going to die in that decent.

This road is a famous one. Would love to drive it some day, but I suspect it is full of tourists. Too famous. https://youtu.be/Asl9BOwSV00

>>
>>60911724
I just checked, and now you just drive through the A75 and everything is good.

However that part of the highway was still not built in the late 90's when I went there, so you had to pass through the village.
