I am willing to debate anyone anytime any place on this: the religious belief system most compatible to secular liberal democracy is Vedanta
-
-
@SkandaVeera In its ability to leave the choices to the self or the individual. -
How they are compatible comes after we answer how they are related in the first place. You saying vedanta as state policy?
@HindolSengupta -
@SkandaVeera I am saying the state is a by product of an individual's sense of referential framework and Vedanta is a suitable framework. -
Sorry state isn't a result of individual but collective self-reference and I don't see how vedanta is even relevant.
@HindolSengupta -
@SkandaVeera Collective self reference is nothing but a loose federation of individual self references congealed willingly in a democracy -
That again depends on how individual-collective relation is defined - which has multiple frameworks.
@HindolSengupta -
@SkandaVeera In a democracy the means are simple. Other frameworks are not necessarily democratic. -
And neither framework has any "compatibility problem" with vedanta - not the H state not democracy not monarchy :)
