I'm just finding out about this myself. All I know is that ERT was going to float an idea past her today at lunch. After that, we got a modmail from her saying she was leaving, and then deleted her account. If I were going to guess, this has less to do with /r/portland and more to do with reddit/the internet/something in her personal life.

Whatever it is, I've sent her an email letting her know that we still love her, because she is an awesome person who helped us out a lot. I hope everything is okay.

Like I said, I don't know why she left. The modmail she wrote just says she's unable to continue doing the job, and that she'd turn CSS/postbot over to the team. Until I hear from her directly, I can't say.

Everything I am seeing on your IRC says that everyone is very aware of what is going on and that it has nothing to do with FZM's personal life - but with drama happening between ERT and other mods. ERT was just extremely rude to JWG and Sal and apparently JWG was PM'ing you all day about the unfolding drama and yet here you are playing dumb.

Your story doesn't add up.

ERT just lit JWG on fire shouting lots of fucked up shit about them and people "below them on the mod list" and here you are absolutely unaware of it.

JWG has already mentioned that she got FZM's email containing her goodbye post that contains all of the information about her leaving and that was an hour ago and here you are pretending you have no idea what's going on.

You don't look very honest right now. nor do you look like someone who knows whats going on in his own subreddit.

I'm sorry you don't think I'm honest, but since FZM isn't here to speak for herself, I cannot and will not repeat what other people have "said she's said" until I hear from her directly. As I would do for any other member of the mod team, or any other user who deleted an account and their abscence was noted. I am doing my best to remain impartial.

To be fair, it was just a few months ago that the entire subreddit was calling for JWG's head following a bit of drama and was pissed that he was allowed to remain on as a mod. So as rude as that statement sounds, I'm guessing there is some context behind it. And anyway, if we're going to be upset about anyone airing mod drama in public, maybe we should be content to let them settle their conflicts behind closed doors?

We've only lost two in the last month, and xmitter is in this thread with his statement about that. pdxsean left months ago because of some differences in policy ideas regarding this sub. He's still over in /r/askportland, and as JWG said, is doing a great job there.

I haven't heard back from fatzombiemama yet. If/when I do, I may post what she says here, provided that's what she wants me to do. If it's something of a personal nature, or if she doesn't want to be public about it, I will respect that.

PDXsean does amazing work in /r/askportland and is an indispensable asset to that sub, but him leaving this mod team was not due to any drama. It was much more of a difference in opinion as to how the sub was run, and it was entirely not-dramatic and everyone is on good terms. PDXsean is an awesome person and a fab photog so we were sad to see him go but we understood entirely.

EpicRepairtime has an ego that makes Trump look demure. He actually thinks he's smarter and a better leader than everyone else. The very idea that some General Contractor who barely understands the basics of web construction and who has never worked within a corporate or academic environment honestly believes that they are a skilled technical leader is delusional at best.
