GlobalOffensive 内の MajestyA によるリンク Reminder: Pro cheating accusations must be backed up by proof - regardless of who they're from

TINFOIL* Kappa Regarding Yee_lmao being hacked... I would assume a hacker like haci would have some semblance of security knowledge and wouldn't easily let a throwaway account get hacked. (Especially twitter+reddit, like reddit passwords can be really, really long and much harder to break.) It seems to me like he was threatened by a party for Libel as his actual name came out, and Lewis had to support his claims to protect his friend.

On another note regarding the general accusations themselves I certainly don't have any proof, but it is important to collect and weigh the evidence and have a mature discussion without resorting to threats or insults towards the players.

Personally, as I was watching Faze vs Dignitas at Eleague I can readily believe that pros are hacking during those games. I would encourage you to examine and draw your own judgments after understanding how exactly those cheats would work and look like.
Specific moments include watching Kio's 4k, it seemed weird on the second pistol which was a big round, and there were a number of other weird moments in the series. On dignitas Konfig has his own accusation thread, but being upper b site whiffing down too 7 bullets with a USP and not hitting a shot is too strange when we considered those weird ass flicks that seemed too impossibly good to be true, the absolute botness that was that play seemed like evidence to me that he has 'assistance' for crucial rounds and plays.

On the other hand I kinda feel pity for those other pros, for those players who go 0-0-9 against those kind of plays. It would explain the malaise among north american pros and the old boys club if they did, I would be so depressed if the game I loved to compete in was taken away by hackers. I hope that standards are tightened up at lans, and actual security measures are put in place that would limit player access to steam, or bringing in any outside equipment or peripherals. I would be grateful if those measures were implemented to a credible point where I could watch a lan event and feel confident that no cheating was taking place, as Kqly and Emillio have mentioned before, they weren't the only ones and some bans never materialized after saying they were forthcoming.

In this high pressure environment it is important that valve responds with better measures, or if this 'other person' haci is blaming the hackusations on has actual evidence or proof to share. So far it seemed like the knowledge has been used to manipulate sticker prices and inflate his ego, so I hope that he can act altruistically and actually help this community if he is telling the truth.

Edit* Regarding Witch hunts and attacks on players

I understand the mods view that previous threads regarding these discussions have been less then ideal. I agree that it was damaging to player reputations, their mental health and the raging pitchforks did little to encourage a productive discussion. The conversation stopped. This can occur with any emotionally conflicting situation, but it is important to have a dialogue - people must be able to collect evidence for experts to assess and bring it to authorities attention. However this dialogue cannot turn poisonous as it discourages anyone from listening and closes minds against attack. To have no dialogue discussing the situation at all is dangerous and will not change anything, so please be respectful and do not send hate towards those you accuse. If /r/globaloffensive does not welcome this discussion, I am sure another venue will have to work.

Haci broke into an Esl machine, and has hidden information he has yet to leak. I would tend to agree with most of what is saying regarding hacking in the pro scene and it would not at all be a surprise to me.

From here and from what I read in other threads its speculated he was in the ESL skype group, if it was done via access through an ESL employee’s computer that haci had hacked into. Then has access to other information as well, he probably could see a list of suspects that ESL may have had for their events.

Certainly Cluj for Flusha was weird, and he has always had a weird history. This was around the time when Konfig was sacrificed and Lycan was also saying cheaters were everywhere. http://www.hltv.org/forum/1022516-konfig-flusha-cheats

From browsing reddit and hltv there are some really gnarly looking videos I certainly cannot explain or rationalize to myself, feel free to look those up for yourselves and make your own judgements. Its like trying to dam a river though. Certainly would not be out of the question for an organization like ESL or Valve to ignore cheating certainly because it would take legitimacy away from the history of the entire scene and potentially kill its future if this isn’t fixed. The nightmare of struggling about payouts and prize money, the witchhunts would wreck Go. So obviously once enough people get away with it, its systemic and everyone has to do it to succeed. Its like corruption, it destroys society, but once its there its really hard to root out.

Another issue that we have at Lans is the huge lack of security preparations that would actually prevent cheating from occurring. It makes all this moot and irrelevant because there is nothing to prove. No real hard evidence. Just videos that say hey, this is me cheating, but you have no proof and its on Lan. “So obviously it can’t happen.” But look at Kqly, do you really think that he was the only one? So if your choice is to destroy the history of Go and your own organization trying to force valve to recognize the bans… what would you do? There are countless ways to upload a hack that cannot be detected by any current anti cheat. You just have to look and recognize how those settings work and apply them to suspect plays to determine how many times they have toggled them. They probably keep these charts at ESL from what I have seen him hint at regarding LG, 20 out of 30 rounds toggled on average.

Certainly valve would have to make some tough ethical decisions, and maybe these organizations have discussed these things and if they have I want to know. So if Haci is hinting at something like this, I would very greatly appreciate any real, hard evidence he can get his hands on proving someone on his list.

If its true, there would be alot of pressure for those organizations to censor the information as they came up with a solution.
