Trying to detox from TRP. (self.TheBluePill)

So for the past few months I've been reading the posts in the TRP sub, never reading the holy "sidebar" but mostly understanding the fundamentals of the Red Pill. That being said, I was always a skeptic and laugh at most of the posts there, but stuff like that can really affect you even if you don't consciously allow it to or take it seriously. I've found myself thinking more and more red-pilled, which is a problem for many reasons, especially since I'm in an amazing LTR and don't want to mess anything up trying to increase attractiveness and keep her with me. How can I start to stop this way of thinking?

That depends on who you are and why TRP is appealing to you. I'd guess a lot of the draw of TRP is it (superficially) addresses self esteem issues.

Fix the underlying cause of why TRP is able to suck you in, and you'll be on your way to a better relationship with your SO.

Also /r/exredpill may be of some help. This isn't (technically) as help sub, but we do happen to have a lot of helpful people around.

I guess it's appealing to me for the same reason it's appealing for so many guys - I had a very bad experience with my first girlfriend that makes me question how and why she became such a toxic person. TRP says they have the answers, like any cult.

Yep - but by seeing the faults of your first girlfriend as a fault with women (instead of assessing the individuals involved), you'll miss actually being able to learn anything useful from a bad experience. TRP will help you attract and surround yourself with messed up people rather than help you identify unhealthy people (like your first gf) and filter them out.

Yeah. It's sad, because women get shit on by men too. A lot. My first real boyfriend forced himself on me. (And, NO, there is no level of good-looking that = auto consent.) I've been cheated on, subjected to emotional abuse, etc. As much as I adore men in general, some of y'all can be downright unpleasant to date.

Yes, there are HIGHLY toxic women out there, but most of us are really just normal folks. The same can be said about men. What you really have to remember about TRP is their fatal flaw is they see all women as being the exact same, and that is not a pretty picture. They are a hate group just like any other, seeing all women as stupid just like white supremacists see all black people as, say, criminals. You can't lump everyone together.

And the behaviors they subscribe to are either utterly clueless or downright abusive. Everyone deserves respect.

TRP does not reflect real life.
