Three primary reasons:

It is the 5th CoD game in a row to be set in the future

It had a truly terrible reveal trailer

People have to pay $80 to get CoD4 Remastered

Despite those games technically taking place in the future they still felt like modern warfare gameplay wise. Imo it's about time they went full on sci fi which allows them the freedom to make it feel fresh.

Always disturbs me when Battlefield does something incredible people scream out with their hearts full of joy "RIP COD". If a game I loved did something as sick as battlefield this year I wouldn't bask in the death of another game. Some sadistic mother fuckers HATE CoD.

The first trailer was really boring. Super generic shoot shoot bang bang run forward, a horrible cover of Space Oddity, and the plot seemed ripped straight from Halo Reach.

If this is the actual gameplay then it's a complete 180 from the first teaser.

The same reason it used to be cool to hate Halo back in the day. Because it's edgy to do so, it's cool to do so, and because people need to arbitrarily choose sides. It's childish and gamers have been doing this forever.

It's the fourth game in a row set in the future. Few other factors like supply drop drama in BO3, movement system and first trailer was actually pretty mediocre. And of course because it's Call of Duty.

I mean, it looks like EVERY sci-fi game... or any Sci-Fi shit now adays.

Ooo fascinating grey slidey doors, in fascinating grey metal hallways, in a grey spaceship, with uninspired space floating. It all just looks so... dull.

This is coming from someone who loves CoD. But the amount of sci-fi is just too much now, i feel like every third game i see these days is sci-fi, and for call of duty, a game notorious for playing it safe, this is just so lame looking...

I'm honestly just gonna stick with BF1 from what i've seen.

I'm not preordering but this definitely put it back on the radar for me. If it holds up on release and has a solid single player it's absolutely a pick up for me.

I thought it was some new space exploration title, when he jumped out of the ship and started firing I literally went wait what the fuck THIS is Call of Duty?? It looks cool as fuck and I wasn't a fan of the last few COD titles. Very interested to see where they take this now.

I was pretty impressed with the grounded but fully 3D movement. I might actually play the SP on this one.

Really though I'll be getting this for MW remastered (Multiplayer). That was the last COD game I truly enjoyed.

But yes apparently you are a fighter pilot and soldier. If anyone gives a shit about CoD lore (literally tens of people I am sure) fighters are able to operate autonomously anyways. They are probably a little better with a pilot but the biggest benefit of the player character is the ability to board I bet.

I am kind of excited for Battlefront 2 space maps: The Game.

I honestly thought that was a cool new sci-fi shooter IP that I was pumped to get and then was shocked when I saw it was the newest COD. On one hand, good for them for that. On the other, that means the story likely sucks, I don't like the type of multiplayer COD offers (twitch oriented, teen oriented, etc) and it isn't going to be an immersive awesome new sci-fi IP.

I was hoping it would be a new world...like a studio built out a universe like we saw in "The Expanse" and then made a game in it that was a FPS.

For MW Remastered. But yeah, I still don't get it. I hate exclusive deals like that because it's just half your player base getting shafted. Especially because it also basically undermines the hope of cross play that I had for this years COD.
