You must not play PC then, extremely rare. Encountered way more "cheaters" when I had an xbox with people using modded rapid fire controllers, and manipulating their lag in online matches.

Because PC gaming fanatics are intolerant assholes. If you don't enjoy a upgrading your video card everytime a new game comes out, you're an idiot that only plays Call of Duty on your PS2.

They don't understand that some people just want to sit on the couch, put a game in and play it without updating drivers, swapping out hardware, tweaking graphic options, and the general fuckery that comes with high-end PC gaming.

If you know nothing of PC gaming then you are just uninformed, although I might have to slap you for buying a console for so much money when the $250-300 is enough to play that game your friends are all playing..

at the very least $400 will buy you a hell of a lot of video card, and assuming its 5 or 6 hundred minimum, thats still a couple hundred left over for other components.

Assuming you already have a PC. Even at a 1080, you'll be CPU bottlenecked if you only upgrade a GPU to such high end hardware on several year old hardware.

I tried running a 980ti with my i52500k and I was only using 50% GPU and maxing my CPU in games. Ended up going for a full system upgrade.

The thought is that it will cost so much due to it having a 1080 equivelent gpu in it.

Scorpio will be 6 Tflop while the 1080 is like 9 Tflop. Its already dated

There's no way it will have a GTX 1080 equivalent GPU. Perhaps a lower powered RX 480 would be reasonable though. Of course that's still LIGHTYEARS ahead of what's currently in the Xbone (A stripped back 7870 if I recall).

even with price deflation they most likely wouldn't get a 1080 equivalent in there. the 1080 will still cost at least 500 and then you still need a cpu that will keep up and ram and profit(?) and such. and its for vr, which headsets also costs quite bit. I don't know how they can make 4k gaming a thing in the forseeable future under 800 bucks

I had a ton of friends on XBL, and I was worried about losing them when I switched to PC. Then I said fuck it and switched to PC. I was friendless for about a week and then I was invited to numerous communities and my steam friends list is now 450+ strong, and I talk to every one of them. I don't regret leaving my "friends" behind to reach bigger and better places. PC communities are so much more welcoming and friendly than console communities. Also, you don't have to leave your console friends behind, you can still contact them through skype and even XBL on PC, and almost all of your friends have a PC that they could play something like minecraft on, so you don't have to just drop all contact.

Eventually my best console friends moved to PC, a few by just getting small upgrades on their home PC, so it's like I never really left them behind.

A big part of the appeal for consoles over PC is their longevity. That's gone now. Xbox exclusivity is also gone with Play Anywhere.

There's still some appeal in user friendliness, but I'd say the cheaper console will also appeal to those people more.

That's a dumb solution to a non-problem. Someone has neither a gaming PC nor an Xbox one and all his friends have an Xbox One. He wants to play games with them. He also wants to play in 4k and/or he wants better framerate. So instead of him buying the 4K Xbox One he asks all of his friends to ditch their Xbox Ones and builds PCs. Solely because PC elitism and DAE consoles suq.

If you think it is about elitism you are missing the point. The PC is a better investment of money, last longer and is far more expandable.

Because i have a gaming PC I am also able to explore other interests like 3d modeling, rendering, advanced photoediting. Forget the jokes and shit about FPS and render distance, the PC is a better platform for gaming at almost the same cost these days.

Crossplay that is being rolled out is a really great solution to people who dont want to have a functional computer around the house.

I think you missed my point. /u/peoplewander suggested that him and all his friends build PCs just because one of them wanted to play games with them. That IS about PC elitism. Clearly if all his friends played on Xbox he should just buy an Xbox to play with them. To suggest they ALL need to drop their Xboxes and builds PCs is a stupid statement and would be a waste of money for all of them.

A prebuilt or a laptop will do fine for 90% of the population. Consoles are a very good product for people who already have a capable PC and just want to play games. This is coming from a PC gamer who built his own PC.

IF that is what makes you happy then do it. PC's are must better because they do everything. I use my xboxone as a plex box, and to play halo. For the 550 I spent on my Xboxone, I could have build a good core system. Most people have both so that is an actually pretty good gaming PC. Exclusives have completely dropped off for me as a marketable item.

Grew up on consoles. Consider myself very good at Halo. If I went to PC and tried playing shooters with a controller I'd be bronze tier in every game I played. I just don't want to relearn 15+ years of practice and muscle memory

I wouldn't say dumb, but most people I know don't even know how to build a PC or let alone know which specs to get for a decent PC. Look at Walmart or Bestbuy most of their PC's don't even have a decent GPU to play games properly. Also I might trade my Xbox one for the Scorpio if the hardware is pretty good for a console. I enjoy playing games but the game varies on what platform my friends play it on.
