    Not sure if this will reach any of those affected, any of the bereaved, any of the injured, or traumatized, but my heart... is in Orlando with you all. I'm very angry, been praying all day for all affected. If there was ANYTHING I could do to *just* hold and hug some of you, I would. May God's peace cover you, may your road to recovery be as smooth as possible, may you find comfort despite your pain, may you have plenty of time to grieve. Kluvon Scott I think it's great that so many want to help One Blood help save lives. And the best way of doing that is to donate blood. The need will be great over the next few days. For myself, I would encourage those who are not from the Greater Orlando area to consider supporting your local blood donor sites, either with blood donations or other resources. I see the outpouring of support that is being generated here on this Facebook page and it is so very encouraging, but please know that you can know your local blood banks best and that local gifts will be greatly appreciated. More to the point, the CEO/President of One Blood receives over 480,000 dollars a year in compensation. I cannot believe that the organization cannot afford to visit the grocery store for juice, snacks, etc. Blood donor sites in your area may be very hard pressed to afford all that they want to accomplishment. Perhaps your gifts could be made locally and in honor of the many, many victims of such violence at Pulse Orlando. Thanks for all you do!

Countless times I sat at a bar, noticed access to streets, felt the vulnerability. I understood that gay hatred existed. Understood that, as a gay woman, as a Jewish gay woman choosing to be a part of the Gay community, I was at risk. And today it happened. Far from me. But right inside my heart, too.

I believe we have chosen to be on the planet at an interesting time. But in truth, no more or less violent or hatred driven, or even random, than in any other time in human history. The choice to live a human life is one, I believe, that requires a soul of courage and fortitude. A deep desire to grow the spirit. A painful, difficult choice, the reward for which is shrouded in mystery, unknowable except through faith and, perhaps, after death.

And you know what? I am glad to be on the planet. Glad to have ALL we millions.
