Y-You're not meaning today's U.S. armed forces, right?

Please don't imply that.

Modern day US? Freedom stomp 11/10. Nothing either German force has can touch modern aircraft, not even the old and slow(in this era) B-52's. Most anti-tank weapons would barely scratch an M1A1, which can also fire on the move and outranges WWII tanks by a huge amount. And every soldier's basic rifle can spit out 30 rounds in a magazine as fast as you can pull the trigger in semi-auto mode compared to a bolt action 5 shot rifle. Plus modern advances in communication and recon, allowing the US to run circles around both forces at will.

To pile on how screwed the Germans are. How are they supposed to resupply? The German war machine required millions of supplies daily. The US could do nothing but defend and the Germans will run out of food and ammunition within a week.

No doubt they will try to advance and push the attack even while under supplied if they're operating under the same generals as WW2

I once read that armor hull hasn't been improved much in stopping power, since ww2 since it won't matter, because artillery and planes guns will just obliterate it anyways. Instead focus have been on improving weight and function of offensive capabilities.

An interesting scenario would be how would this work in 1941? Say that captured German areas replace Mexico somehow, and Germany mounts a Barbarossa-style offensive on the US from the south. The rest of the world stays out.
