Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

Embolo sounds alright but does anyone think we're looking too much at less proven talent? We really need to get top 4 next year and our competition is improving so maybe we need to buy some more developed players, just a thought.

If he's valued at £80m, I think £35m for Darmian and Mata is a fair price. Darmian is worth around £15m and Mata no more than £20m.

That's fair enough I'd say. So maybe not that crazy in terms of price, but it doesn't exactly sound realistic.

I have nothing against those two players but I would take that deal in a heartbeat. Pogba would transform us. It's unlikely though, swaps are rare and double swaps even more so. I'd love to be wrong.

Nothing against the proposal -- I would do it in a heartbeat. But do these "makeweight" deals ever really happen? Maybe I've missed some, but I can't think of any recently. Football is different from sports where a player's contract can be traded along with them (such as MLB or NBA).

Well, today I learned that Eric Dier is a boyhood United fan. He spent his youth at Sporting Lisbon's Academy when he lived there as a youngster.

Now that is a signing I would love to see. He looks every bit a Utd player.

The only downside is Daniel Levy. Mourinho would surely be interested, I mean, we lack a player with his qualities and there are few teams who wouldn't want him I'm sure.
