We used to be morally accountable to society, because we relied on charity and goodwill to help out. You want to build a barn? If the people in the neighborhood like you, they come by and help out. If they think you're an asshole? They ignore you.

But with the welfare state as it is, you can be the rudest meanest bitch on the planet, fuck a Chad, pop out a kid, and you get your check. You can even scream obscenities at your case worker and you still get paid. You get rewarded even if you're rude.

With the push for a universal "basic income" in many feminist societies, you don't even have to push out a kid. You just have to have a pulse. There is no moral accountability to society anymore.

Hypothesis: there is no such thing as moral accountability in worldly matters (whether it's society or the animal kingdom), never was. Moral accountability ultimately is and always has been to God. That is why every functioning civilisation has been built on the basis of faith, and that is why the world today, as it loses its faith, is falling apart.

But being accountable to what happens in the afterlife means nothing to those of us left here on earth. So what if she burns in hell for living off of the state her entire life and ruining men's lives? We get no satisfaction from knowing her eternal punishment. We just have to put up with her shit here and now.

Jesus would to say about people like that: they have their reward - just look at what they become. And you, having reflected on your experiences, have yours.

The problem is when the state is involved.

Society and states passes away - it's inevitable, regardless of how good or bad the world is to you. In fact if it was good to you, we'd have a harder time seeing these things for what they really are.

The central message in most religions is to invest in what doesn't pass away. And paradoxically, investing in such matters tends to bring the best peace and happiness in this life too, irrespective of what the state or society thinks - it's an individual choice that unto death no one can take away from you.

My peace is knowing that I am in control of my destiny now, and my mission is to raise my kids to be moral and useful. If this state gets unbearable then I will move.

I really don't think it'll get as bad as some people think, such as being arrested for looking at a woman or "stare rape". We've hit the turning point with Trump being as popular as he is, people aren't going to take it anymore.
