So I decided to go forward and look into censorship on /r/undelete - an anti censorship subreddit. What I found was shocking.
So here's the top post on undelete.
Here's how the thread actually looked with the deleted comments. Here are some interesting comments that were deleted:
We want reddit change, yet we keep buying reddit gold.
Reddit is a great example of how politicians get elected and why the media is the way it is. Negativity and drama sell.
Please just please dont stop. Nothing changed . The mods stoped but we need to keep this active.
Fuck Ellen Pao. Let's make our own reddit, but ours will have four legs!
Now obviously, there's no way to know whether they were removed by the subreddit moderators or the admins, but we know that there's a sort of 'censorship' that exists on/r/undelete
Let's look at the second most upvoted post on the subreddit - the censorship by the /r/worldnews mods who thought that the mass sex attacks in Germany weren't in the appropriate subreddit.
Here's the post without the deleted comments

Some noteworthy deleted comments:
Admins should move in and dethrone world news mods at last. They clearly can't take this responsibility. From (ban everyone who posts it) to stickying it is a 180 turn that they can't explain.
Admins, any moves?
I was actually banned from worldnews on one of these threads. I asked the mods to clarify why and they still haven't responded.
I think this is what happens when you divulge too much truth.
Threads showing up with all comments deleted too
This post was a bit better than the other one, where from the looks of it, over 200 comments were delted
The next post is the third most upvoted post on /r/undelete. It's a post that was removed of the front page, asking for alternatives for Reddit.
Here's the censored post
Here's the uncensored post.

The old algorithm.
(/r/undelete mods don't like it?)
I'm starting to think they're intentionally trying to make Reddit shitty so Internet users won't have a united front to flock to
I sent this image to one of the admins, because I thought my front page was broken:
(here's the text version for those at work?)
Aha! I think it does fit.
Okay, so this is a bit convoluted, so let me know if I'm making no sense at all.
Imagine there's a variable that says "degrade the ranking of a post that's been sitting up high for more than X hours"
Now we increased the score cap, making ~3 days' worth of posts "artificially" high. They stay on the front page too long, because the variable in point 1 isn't strong enough to pull them down
We drop the score cap again, and these posts all end up dropping off the front at about the same time
Now we have these "cohorts" of 15-25 posts that replace each other a few times throughout the day, moving as a group
So before you'd see one post replacing one of your frontpage posts every, say, 15 minutes. Now it's 15-25 posts replacing almost your entire frontpage every few hours. It's the same number of posts throughout the day, but it feels slower . . . especially since there isn't a replacement "cohort" to rise up when there is less content — when Americans are asleep.
It's like the difference between taking the highway to your friend's house and taking a shortcut with a lot of traffic. You end up in the same place at the same time, but at least with the highway you're actually moving the whole time.
For anyone actually looking for some alternatives:
Snapzu - Excellent content and community. XP leveling system instead of karma adds a sense of progress. Invite only to thwart spammers, but I got my invite in 3 or 4 hours.
Empeopled - Gives you more influence based on the amount of up-votes you've received. Use influence to steer future of the site.
The Needs - Good content but a lot of it looks automated, possibly using bots. No discussion so you lose a lot of that community feel.
Hubski - Classic alternative, been kicking it around for 4-5 years, but still little activity. Community is small but nice.
Spreadit - A dark themed reddit alternative that is similar to reddit and easy to use. Content and community is lacking however.
Hacker News - Another old school place for tech and business talk. Also has some programming and other discussions.
Voat - Just seen it recently. Looks like a direct clone but as you can imagine, it's simple to get used to.
Many on this list courtesy of /r/redditalternatives! Cheers.
The next thread is a post speaking about how Victoria's replacement was an SJW who believed in shit like mansplaining.
Here's the censored version
Here's the uncensored version
Notable deleted comments:
I know I can do her job better than she can. Why would reddit hire someone who isn't good at communicating for a position that requires communication?
Any time someone uses the word "mansplain" I instantly know they are delusional.
At least she didn't play the race card ... yet.
Why do the assholes always end up in charge? Anyone?
The next post Is the post which qquoted Ellen Pao saying that Reddit wasn't a free speech platform.
ACtual thread
uncensored thread
Notable deleted comment:
Is group harassment where a group of admins and mods harass the general population because of what they say?
Just imagine if they still permitted us to use /r/reddit.com, the one place on Reddit that was dedicated to talking about Reddit.
Psychopaths have a tendency to want more power, some succeed.
Well I'll keep it to this.
Something that you might find interesting is that, /u/cojoco, a mod of this subreddit censored out this from /r/freespeech. I really doubt the extent to what he believes free speech is because he's also modded /u/intortus, a mod of /r/shitredditsays to the sub.
I dont know....is /r/undelete just /r/delete?
