Are you speaking from experience? I personally would require quite a bit of desperation. Also, wasn't it more a consequence of gravity than actually shitting directly on the stairs?

You're like eight times more likely to be harassed by a cop in SF if you're black than if you're white, even if you're doing nothing wrong. So no, it's not random, and that's part of the problem.

The portion of the San Francisco public that has been racially profiled and occasionally murdered. The police commission is going to have to learn how to work with an angry crowd.

Sure it's possible. The tighter the corner, the more these riders use the throttle to help the bike turn.

[–]intortus 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I think it's the other way around, he's getting on the throttle. As they say, when in doubt, gas it out.

The two tires were working together to turn the bike and maintain grip. The front let go, but the rear still had enough grip to hold the bike in place. All that's needed is a way to stand the bike up and turn the bike. Torque from the motor can do both of those things, and in fact is how a lot of these guys turn the bikes normally. It's only when the front tire is completely out of the picture that you really see how big a role throttle plays in the corner.

Look at you, continuing to pretend there's ever a good reason to be dropping the N word in the commentary of an article about a mugging on the whitest site on the internet. Just suck it up, you made an inappropriate remark and instead of analyzing why people think you made a mistake, you're trying to cover for it with race realist crap that is just going to make you look worse.

If you choose to ignore race as a variable you are simply being unscientific and illogical.

You're not being any more scientific if you choose to focus on race as a variable without controlling for other factors. In fact, you're just being a racist asshole.

I'd like to hear these complaints in context. Often times riders are simply asked how something affects them and they answer straightforwardly, and then that answer gets sliced out of context as some sort of active complaint.

The journalist was trying to create drama between the riders and Dorna. He claimed that Dorna denied that any rider ever complained about the turn where Salom died, and called out Lorenzo for saying the track changes should've been done earlier, and then asked him who was lying. Zarco came in to the rescue.

"Don't find a problem-- who is right, who is wrong-- because you are-- this is-- you are wrong, that's all."

"No, but see, it's not my problem that-- it's the guy who yesterday was alive, and--"

"Yeah, this is, this is your problem, because you ask the question. And you try to find the problem, so, you are the problem now, ok? So, don't say it please."

Both of your counterexamples were incidents involving rider-rider collisions. There's no track design change I can think of that would've eliminated any risk of such a collision in either case. In those cases more attention is paid to the bikes and rider behavior.

On the other hand, when a rider dies due to colliding with something off track, that should be taken very seriously and the risk should be eliminated. That's one of the few things we can actually control, albeit with some compromises (circuits aren't willing to pay for changes, fans and riders don't want the course to change, etc.). To do otherwise would harken back to the dangerous old days where riders were just told to deal with it, when in fact significant improvements could easily be made.

Every now and then they'll place a camera on the ground at the apex of a fast corner, but they usually only use it near the beginning of the race when the bikes are all packed together.

I wish they'd revert back to the non-gyro cams for the frontmost camera. It's much more immersive because you can see how the chassis is moving. The stabilization takes away 90% of what makes riding along so impressive.
