wow you're still talking out of your collective assholes. Why does communism have to be a teenage phase? Does anybody here know something about communism, about political theory in general? Are you able to absorb information without memes?

Why mock people who think about alternatives to capitalism? do you find nothing wrong with capitalism? is it really the best possible system? do you actually believe that poor people are all lazy fuck ups?

hint: look at the american healthcare system.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'll mock reddit leftists because a not insignificant number of you want to kill everyone who disagrees with you.

People mock communism because it's never worked. The closest thing is China and they aren't really communist. The only people who think that communism works are teenagers or college kids who just learned about it, or crazy leftist academics who never step foot out of their ivory tower. Most educated people had a communist stage and grew out of it after they had their eyes opened to the way humans work. That's why we all roll out eyes and say you'll grow out of it because we've seen it happen many, many times.

Why does communism have to be a teenage phase?

If you're not a teenager, you probably remember which side won the Cold War.

Capitalism has lifted billions of people worldwide out of abject poverty and has been responsible for cast increases in wealth and technology the world over. I think I'll stick with that system.

Socialism, on the other hand, managed to turn the whole "cause as much human misery as possible" thing up to 11. For an ideology with such a short track record that supposedly works towards "equality" and "utopian society", it really has caused an impressive amount of death and suffering.

hey, maybe it's because socialism has never been implemented. do you think that Gulags are consistent with marxist theories?

[–]Arathian [

Do you think Marxist theory means half a shit if it collapses the moment it comes into contact with the real world?

Hint: it doesn't.

True communism, actual true communism, are gulags, mass political persecution, starvation, economic stagnation, complete disregard of human rights and dignity.

Your pipe dream has cost billions of peoples their lives. Grow up.

Are you able to absorb information without memes?

Now that I think about it, it's kind of amazing nobody took the picture of that lady about to get executed and turned it into a meme of some kind.

Commies can't make it a meme about reactionaries because it's a women and same thing goes for leftists, doubled by the fact the executor is a man in uniform.

right. what happens if a US soldier refuses to obey an order?

did you study WWI?

people dont get killed in capitalistic societies? get real

Wait are you implying that a member of any 1st-world nation's armed forces in the 21st century is summarily executed for insubordination?

Yeah man we just shoot em on the spot. Let God sort it out

What happens when a sailor disobeys an order is he generally gets sent to captains mast (at least in the navy) to determine if he/she will be court martialled. Generally speaking, the only time one MIGHT be given the death penalty for disobeying an order is if it could be interpreted as treasonous (and even manning didn't get the treason charge).

Stop talking about things you don't have any idea about and you'll seem less like a child

I've tried to browse reddit communist communities, because yeah, Marxist theory is an interesting read on its own and of course capitalism can be criticized. But these communities are some of the most toxic and sectarian places I've ever seen holy fuck. When these people call liberals and leftcoms fascists, idiots and other names for not agreeing on issues like disliking violence as a force of change it's pretty clear there's nothing of value there. People just get too hostile and incredibly emotional about this. A place to have laidback debate with no hard feeling when one disagrees, and with no blatant namecalling would be the most preferable choice.

Does anybody here know something about communism

Sure do! Folks escaped from Czechoslovakia. Kind of puts a damper on one's tryhard teen angst when hearing about how your mom grew up hungry outside the already-shit support system because grampa once said something bad about the party.

Capitalism gave you everything you have so suck it up, buttercup

In all fairness, I'm far from a liberal capitalist myself and think there is value in anti-capitalist political thought. However, there is a marked difference between actually fascinating theorists (Marx, Adorno, Zizek) and reddit leftists who cause internet drama and are often tankies. I appreciate the former, not the latter.

the general reddit/american understanding of communism stops at Stalin and Mao, who completely deviated from Marx.

I just find Trump supporters who dismiss something without even understanding it hilarious. they are so sure that ageing gives you magical knowledge on which political system is the best for a community.

Not everyone who disagrees with you is a Trump fan btw

on Reddit I spot them pretty easily, they are all very similar.

btw, i'm not a communist.

if I were to live in the US, i'd vote Sanders, who is not a socialist, but a socialdemocrat, or simply, by european standards, a leftist.

Actually, you wouldn't vote at all, because we don't let 14 year olds vote.

that's cute :) you need to push me into your stereotype or you're not satisfied. look at my username.

What's the highest number you can count got anything to do with it?

What about it?

I believe he's thinks he's subverting the idea that all communists/socialists are very young by stating that he is 20 or 21 years old

[–]Prince_Kropotkin [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

  • It absolutely doesn't.

  • Yes

  • Yes

  • Most people here aren't mocking others for being socialists, they're mocking edgelordism

  • A lot of people here probably would critique capitalism if they weren't just trolling

  • It's pretty obviously not the best possible system

  • A lot of people here don't actually bash the poor on a constant basis
