I happened to get into an argument with the wife of a friend the other day and as usual the topic drifted onto the subject of me being single

Q: Don't you feel alone at times. Don't you need company A: Nope never. I can hang out anywhere anytime I want without asking for permission and be alone when I want to. Q: But its really nice to have some company right? A Its nice to have company but when you want it.

I can see her getting flustered at this point of time. I proceed to bring home the point

Along with the freedom you also have the great option of not being a wage slave. I could take a month off work tomorrow with no consequences whatsoever and I am not afraid of being fired. If you are with someone you need to think about all this.

Q: Ok so you save money, have freedom but what do you do with it? I mean its just money in the bank right if you are NOT using it. Also isn't it a bad thing if it means that you don't have to work all the time. How will society function if people think like this

At this point all the alarms in my head go off. I can see how she delights in spending her husband's money. A: Just money in the bank, really. What does everyone work for then. Also working all the time is no different from being a slave. I don't want to be one.

Q: What if you hit 40 and regret not marrying. You won't find anyone then. A: I will always be able to find someone. I can find someone much younger when I am 40. I will be treated better by them and with a lot more respect. Also if I regret being not married then at least its better than spending the best years of my life as a slave and regretting being a slave.

I can see her giving up on convincing me. She throws one last gambit

Q: Don't you have physical needs. How do you tend to them. A: Of course I have physical needs but marriage would be the single most expensive and inefficient to handle them.

She is is despair at this point and cooks up some excuse about having to leave.

Her final comment as she left. You will find someone that will make you change your mind. I am sure

I became single again this year, in my mid thirties. The line about not being able to find someone is bullshit..

Everyone always tells me there will be someone for me who makes me want to marry them or be with them. Especially when I elastic expect it.

It's really frustrating, considering, I've explained my stance on relationships, dating, sex, showed them statistics and studies and they just dismiss it. I understand they want me to be happy, but they don't realize I'm already happy! I'm happy doing whatever I want, whenever I want. In all my relationships I was miserable.

Like Lemmy said, "I've never found a girl who would make me stop thinking about the others. ", but in my case, I can't stop thinking about how they're going to treat me and destroy me, and I don't have time for that.

On another note, married women are the dumbest people to have a conversation with. They always have to be right, and if they aren't they leave. Well, actually, that's women in general.
