So Stellaris is no longer one of the most important titles for paradox. Shit, they gave up on it too soon.

That's quite a leap from "Wiz got a promotion" to abandonware in two sentences. Jesus, dude.

Dude was constantly making troll threads on the forums before Stellaris was released under the same username, and got banned after making too many of them. Just ignore him.

I'm glad I quit replying and went to bed when I did. I can't tell if he's just trying to get a rise or he's really legitimately that salty, but I suspect it's a moot point by now.

Based on the forum activity, I'd say it's trolling sprinkled with a bit of salt. I've seen a twitter account with that same username ask Wiz actual questions about the game on twitter without all the nastiness.

Seriously? What compels people to say things like this.

I have to be misunderstanding this comment, this has to be a comment saying Oh they've switched lead so early, clearly they're abandoning ship. Which could be true in other companies but isn't here.

But if this is just a randomly nasty comment, implying they are giving up on Stellaris by giving it to Wiz. Seriously?

Does randomly being nasty to a person on the internet make you feel about yourself?

Oh they've switched lead so early, clearly they're abandoning ship

That's exactly what I meant.

Which could be true in other companies but isn't here.

Why?

[–]Asiak 5ポイント6ポイント  (4子コメント)

Oh okay I didn't think anyone was that specifically salty against Wiz.

Because that isn't an illogical thought, that is true in a lot of companies. Things get shuttered, some guy gets shuttled off.

But that doesn't mean it's the case for every position change in every game company. Not even talking specifically about Paradox sometimes companies just need to shift people and talent around. There are a million different reasons why a company would shift people.

It certainly isn't always because the game is being declared a failure / being shuttered.

How did we get so scarred?

I respect Wiz. he's a good programmer, but he's too noobie to rival Doomdark as the creative director, so I believe that PD gave Wiz Stellaris, so Wiz will be able to learn and study, while they do not expect much profits from Stellaris anymore, so there will be few investments, meaning that we will see only 2-3 dlcs in 2 years.

I can bet it. 2-3 dlcs in 2 years, no more. And after two years there will be no more dlcs.

You are basing this on what facts?

http://steamcharts.com/cmp/281990,203770,236850#All

EU and Ck2 had a stable player base since release, while Stellaris is losing players with alarming speed. If the trend continues, EU4 will become more popular than Stellaris. I bet that after Endless Space 2 release that will happen.

What it means? Stellaris will be mostly ignored by PD, with experienced and proffesional members of PD moved to important projects, while Stellaris will be a training ground for new employees, until forgotten like Sengoku in two years

Eu4, CK2 and Stellaris are completely different games with different target audiences. Sure, they're all paradox strategy games but with Stellaris coming in it targets a whole new group who were never really interested in the traditional paradox games. Stellaris is a new direction for Paradox and they will definitely want to capitalize on the idea of making and selling DLC for a game that has already shown strong sales numbers. It really makes no sense for them to abandon a game that is doing well.

Sengoku and March of the Eagles were never strong sellers and were never considered "flagship" games like Paradox is considering Stellaris now.

“We are immensely proud of the Paradox team for putting together such a stellar release,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive and master of puns. “This release is the result of hard work and dedication from the entire company and in particular Paradox Development Studio. The incredible reception by players, indicated for instance by the steam user reviews, is all the proof we could ask for that our hard work paid off. Our fans have put their faith in us and Stellaris will be a part of Paradox's onwards journey for a long time to come.”
