I will feel bad for the RSPCA in Wales the day after the England game. All those domestic violence cases from the drunk and pissed off Welsh fans

FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME! IT'S COMING HOME! IT'S COMING HOME! IT'S COMING!

You'd have to think one of Martial, Schweinsteiger, De Gea, Rooney, Fellaini, or Darmian will be lifting it.

It's my last two weeks in Zambia, I didn't get to see a lion in the wild but I saw just about everything else. I'll miss the beauty of the country and the people but I'm looking forward to decent Internet and power that's there 24/7.

Here's a nice photo I took in Botswana last week

Did you see a Rhino?

Yeah but it was in semi captivity, the same deal with the lions. It feels a lot better seeing them in the wild.

Did you see a cheetah?

Yeah, I got to walk with one. It was billed as a 'cheetah experience' where you go up to it and stroke it before they put it on a leash and you walk it. You're in this enclosure and someone left the door open so while I was walking it (although it felt more like he was walking me) the cheetah saw a Zambian kid outside the enclosure and started to run after the kid. Luckily I went against the guides advice to let go because I held on long enough for the guide to go to the cheetah and calm him down, if I had let go that kid would have been breakfast.

I saw one in the wild as well, but no cool story to go along with it.

That's pretty cool. Was it powerful?

Did you see OPs mum a hippo?

I think I've seen nearly 1000 hippos this past year in Zambia/Zimbabwe/Botswana. On the big rivers there are so many of them.

Did you see any elephants?

Yeah hordes of them, one of them caused me to be late for a plane journey.

I guess that is a reasonable excuse over there for being late. Wildlife was on the road, doubt I could use that excuse here. Aye there was a badger on the dual carriageway, sorry boss.

What about any Fish Eagles? Or are they mainly in south Africa

How did you find Zimbabwe?

Never went into Zimbabwe officially, just ventured in for a few hours when I was on the lower Zambezi river, so I can't talk about what the country is like.

[–]RuudVanDestroyVan Nistelrooy 0

Zambian here, hope you enjoyed it! Shame you didn't see any lions in the wild. Did you go up to South Luangwa?

Unfortunately not, I have been busy with work so I didn't get to go to as many national parks as I wanted to. I only went to lower Zambezi, Kafue and livingstone national parks. If I had more time/money I would have liked to go to the east, I'll have to do it next time I come back. As a whole the country is amazing, I've never felt so close to nature than I do in Zambia and the people are some of the friendliest I've ever met.

Where abouts in Zambia are you from and are you still living here?

Girlfriend cheated on me about 3 weeks ago, day before anniversary so it really hurt. Think I'm starting to get over it all slowly, getting uni results back in the next week or so and I'm working 40 odd hours a week at work so money's rolling in for the first time in my life. Good to see who real friends are in situations like this.

Great that she cheated on you now and you realized she was a whore before it progressed to something like marriage. It will get better. Don't worry.

Yeah that's what I'm telling myself. Rather it happen now than in years to come if we ever settled down.

Hopefully signing Zlatan makes you feel better

I wouldn't mind that!

Yeah you've really got to ask yourself "Is a girl who cheats the kind of girl who is even worth feeling sad about?" And the answer is no. Right now its just hard because you have probably just gotten used to being with her and breaking up is a huge alteration in your routine. Its the same thing that occurs in the brain of a drug addict. Your brain is used to receiving the happy chemicals that are released when you are with her. Now your brain is deprived of it and literally going through withdrawals. You will adjust. :)

Bloody ell, if she's that ruthless to do it before your anniversary, then you are so much better off finding someone who you can actually trust mate, enjoy the Euros, use your degree results to begin your chosen career and enjoy that without something else to think about.

Aww don't worry mate things like that happened, i hope you'll find someone better in the future

Fasting season but I'm not that tired nor feeling hungry. That's something. Anyway, Ramadan Kareem to all /r/reddevils Muslim redditors.

Neither am I, think it's to do with us being in the middle of winter.

Ramadan kareem to you too! I'm in texas with the crazy heat but strangely enough, i agree with you. this fasting season has not been bad at all yet.

It annoys me that good quality posts which go against the general opinion of this sub get heavily down voted. I know that this is what reedit is like in general and with so many people in this sub, many are bound to downvote if they disagree, but there's genuinely a lot of good discussion points that just get discarded. Especially those that start with "I think" or "in my opinion" which clearly shows its just their view.

I try to upvote as many of them as I can, but most still get buried because of the downvotes and it's just a shame that they do.

Do they really though? I feel like the ones which are heavily downvoted are the ones which aren't written well or don't support the opinion with good content. People whinge about these posts getting downvoted but I browse r/new a fair bit and the ones downvoted are generally low quality posts which are either flogging a dead horse or presenting a wild emotive opinion without any substance to back it up.

The only thing which irks me is when people get downvoted for asking honest questions they don't know the answer to. I don't see why everyone has to be a dick about it.

Agreed. I think the problem is that people consider a lot of fluffed up shitposts good posts just because they're written well. I've never seen a genuinely good post downvoted on here really, it's always stuff like "Opinion: LVG will win us the treble four years in a row and here's why"

[–]bagombos_enough_boxFat Ronaldo 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's tough because when you disagree with an opinion, the instinct is to downvote. But it takes differing opinions sometimes to have a meaningful discussion.

If we could all upvote based on the quality of comments and posts, rather than on whether or not we agree, this sub would be a much better place to be.

[–]KillerKipperBad Man Marouane 2

saw AC/DC last saturday and Bruce Springsteen last sunday. They were both quality (includinng Axl Rose who was really on point) but Springsteen was something else. Did a 3 1/2 hour set with basically no stops and loked like he could do another!

I saw AC DC last year in Australia. So happy to see them before fat Axl came in!

[–]KillerKipperBad Man Marouane 0

I thought Axl would be awful but he was fucking brilliant. Proper surprised by it. So much so that if Guns n Roses do another tour seriously consider getting tickets for it

[–]bagombos_enough_boxFat Ronaldo 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

I've somehow only just realised how great Springsteen is, and I'm 25.

Was walking back to my place in Manchester last night and AC/DC fans had literally taken over the centre. Every takeaway shop was packed and everyone was searching for a bar that was open.

[–]Custard_NoobMartial. He's isolated. Skrtel here. OHHHHH YESSS! 1

I have some cereal and a protein shake. I can usually go the whole day without eating anyways, it's the drinking that gets me.

The thirst is real in the evening. Good luck to you man!

Drink lots of water during the pre fast meal to alleviate your hydration levels for the day.

You wanna be eating a high fat meal with loads of oats. You'll not be hungry for a long time.

Friendly advice, drink more water in the pre-dawn meal. I go through a bottle and a half every time and it tides me over thirstwise until an hour or two before the fasting day ends.

[–]Custard_NoobMartial. He's isolated. Skrtel here. OHHHHH YESSS! 0

Thanks for the tip.
I do drink a lot during the evening however my job requires me to talk lots, so unfortunately by the time it reaches 5/6pm I'm very thirsty.
Also it doesn't help that I walk several miles to work and back but that is the point of Ramadan, so no point complaining.

[–]bagombos_enough_boxFat Ronaldo 1ポイント2ポイント  (2子コメント)

Are you saying you're not a muslim, but you're fasting in solidarity? Jeez, that's some real commitment.

[–]Custard_NoobMartial. He's isolated. Skrtel here. OHHHHH YESSS! 1

That's right haha. I'm not religious at all but I thought I would provide support and see what it is like to fast.
Truth be told my co-workers are the first Muslims I have met in my my life, so I want to experience their culture as well.

[–]bagombos_enough_boxFat Ronaldo 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Major props to you for being so open-minded and interested in other cultures. I wish there were more people like you here in the UK. This whole EU debate is bringing out some real nastiness towards other cultures :-(

I don't have cable tv anymore so now this is the first major tournament I'll be watching via streams on my laptop. Feels odd.

Assuming your not European then?

Nope I'm living in Singapore.

Ah ok, I'm sure they will all be easy enough to find on the internet. How does the times suit over there?

Yeah that's true. Just dislike having to do the extra nitty gritty over a fixed channel and all. I'm more bothered about the Olympics as that could be hard to find streams for.

The times are not great as it's GMT +8 here so.... But still, fun to watch of course. With extra work now though.

I used to. Is there a supporters club there?

I think so but I'm not following that aspect of things as I normally watch games on tv at home till, well, now. Getting ace stream to work on my MacBook is a pain unfortunately and it hasn't taken off for me I think. Gotta find a new way now.

Heh well maybe one day we might even watch a match together, if I'm back in SG again.

I'll be flying to Singapore for two months on an office assignment. Will land on the 17th. If you find any pubs showing the matches, do let me know!

Well there'll be numerous in the Clarke Quay area and your hotel will likely have it too I'm guessing. :)

I'm up for a meet. I don't drink though :)

I just ditched sky after 3 years. I wasn't paying for HD sports and, when the game was on BT, I'd stream a HD stream. So it seems pointless to keep paying for sky.

My fm united save is becoming real life. In my save, Marcus rashford debuted agaisnt arsenal and scored twice, I signed a player named bailey (not eric but a winger named leon from genk in Belgium) I signed embolo. If everything does turn up to be true execpt us to get felix passlack from Dortmund, pogba, and maybe zivkovic from partisan in Serbia. Lol

When are you getting sack in favour for Jose then?

[–]larry_b_s_zombieGolemín 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's currently March 17, 2029 in my United save (FM 2014). The only non-regen in my team is Luke Shaw, who is 33 and approaching retirement. Messi is my U18 manager. Total game time fast approaching 21 days... it's an embarrassment.

So I'm off to the euros soon. My friends and I got 4 tickets for the Iceland vs Austria game at the Stade de France. We're 4 lads from North London all fully English but as the tickets were relatively cheap for a euros I'm really excited. You could argue it's a shit game but it's a sold out game and it's nice to say you've been to a major tournament. Can't wait.

I was at the world cup in South Africa. It was the games we thought would be shit were the best, like South Korea vs Nigeria. Brazil vs Portugal was utter shite, and the semi final wasn't the best game of football either.

This week;

1) Got a shiny new phone because the universe told me to (seriously, I had my main phone and 3 back-ups all die within the space of 10 days)

2) Became a qualified personal trainer

3) Having my first proper title match in the world of pro-wrestling. I'm not likely to take the belt, but being put in a title match is an honour

4) Got a new, permanent job at my current employers, who I adore to bits

5) Embolo/Zlatan? Please?

Just about to finish my 2nd week of summer internship. I'm glad that I feel really well doing what I am doing and hence I'm really looking forward to the rest of the summer.

Also, (re)started going to the gym this week. God I should have done that more regularly in the past ~5 months. Any suggestions how to get back to shape sooner rather than later? Also, perhaps somebody would be so kind to share their 3-day per week programme? I know that there's a lot of info on the web but it would be cool to get the advice from someone doing it atm.

I follow this workout and compress it to 3 days. Monday, back/shoulders and chest/arms. Legs I do on one of the days as well.

It gets easier as your body gets used to it and you feel less fatigue as well as soreness.

I'm officially a Level 2 Coach. That means that in theory, I could work in youth academies at any level in England (although for obvious reasons the biggest clubs require the UEFA B license, which is Level 3).

Due to time constrains, this will be my last step in my football education in the UK. I'd like to take the UEFA B course, but I need to get hours and hours of coaching first, so that I am well prepared for that when the opportunity arises. By the way, if any investors are reading this, please help me pay for the scout courses in Manchester and I'll do a full assessment of your team(s), wherever in the world you are. Damn scout courses are incredibly expensive, around 350 pounds per day (!)

Anyway, it's been brilliant. I'm also happy to see that I like it, that I actually like it. I'm still not brilliant at it, but I can see improvements. I still think I'd be a better manager than coach, but I gotta learn how to coach if I want to become a manager.
