It's my last two weeks in Zambia, I didn't get to see a lion in the wild but I saw just about everything else. I'll miss the beauty of the country and the people but I'm looking forward to decent Internet and power that's there 24/7.

Yeah, I got to walk with one. It was billed as a 'cheetah experience' where you go up to it and stroke it before they put it on a leash and you walk it. You're in this enclosure and someone left the door open so while I was walking it (although it felt more like he was walking me) the cheetah saw a Zambian kid outside the enclosure and started to run after the kid. Luckily I went against the guides advice to let go because I held on long enough for the guide to go to the cheetah and calm him down, if I had let go that kid would have been breakfast.

I saw one in the wild as well, but no cool story to go along with it.

I think I've seen nearly 1000 hippos this past year in Zambia/Zimbabwe/Botswana. On the big rivers there are so many of them.

Girlfriend cheated on me about 3 weeks ago, day before anniversary so it really hurt. Think I'm starting to get over it all slowly, getting uni results back in the next week or so and I'm working 40 odd hours a week at work so money's rolling in for the first time in my life. Good to see who real friends are in situations like this.

Yeah you've really got to ask yourself "Is a girl who cheats the kind of girl who is even worth feeling sad about?" And the answer is no. Right now its just hard because you have probably just gotten used to being with her and breaking up is a huge alteration in your routine. Its the same thing that occurs in the brain of a drug addict. Your brain is used to receiving the happy chemicals that are released when you are with her. Now your brain is deprived of it and literally going through withdrawals. You will adjust. :)

I'm not being funny or anything, but you've not been with this person for a significant amount of time.

People young get so caught up in relationships (i'm 23 so i guess i'm included in the age bracket) and i think it's a bit of a waste of time especially when more often than not it doesn't work out.

Spend some time single and enjoying your 20's you don't want to be one of those people in their 30's with a shit load of regrets because you spent your time chasing girls and not goals.

Good to see who real friends are in situations like this

saw AC/DC last saturday and Bruce Springsteen last sunday. They were both quality (includinng Axl Rose who was really on point) but Springsteen was something else. Did a 3 1/2 hour set with basically no stops and loked like he could do another!

Yeah that's true. Just dislike having to do the extra nitty gritty over a fixed channel and all. I'm more bothered about the Olympics as that could be hard to find streams for.

The times are not great as it's GMT +8 here so.... But still, fun to watch of course. With extra work now though.

It annoys me that good quality posts which go against the general opinion of this sub get heavily down voted. I know that this is what reedit is like in general and with so many people in this sub, many are bound to downvote if they disagree, but there's genuinely a lot of good discussion points that just get discarded. Especially those that start with "I think" or "in my opinion" which clearly shows its just their view.

I try to upvote as many of them as I can, but most still get buried because of the downvotes and it's just a shame that they do.

I was there a couple months ago and its such a great city! So chilled. I absolutely recommend a trip to the nearby Wieliczka Salt Mine - cheap like most things there and is one of the coolest things i've ever seen! Favourite part of the trip!

Just about to finish my 2nd week of summer internship. I'm glad that I feel really well doing what I am doing and hence I'm really looking forward to the rest of the summer.

Also, (re)started going to the gym this week. God I should have done that more regularly in the past ~5 months. Any suggestions how to get back to shape sooner rather than later? Also, perhaps somebody would be so kind to share their 3-day per week programme? I know that there's a lot of info on the web but it would be cool to get the advice from someone doing it atm.

I follow this workout and compress it to 3 days. Monday, back/shoulders and chest/arms. Legs I do on one of the days as well.

It gets easier as your body gets used to it and you feel less fatigue as well as soreness.

So I'm off to the euros soon. My friends and I got 4 tickets for the Iceland vs Austria game at the Stade de France. We're 4 lads from North London all fully English but as the tickets were relatively cheap for a euros I'm really excited. You could argue it's a shit game but it's a sold out game and it's nice to say you've been to a major tournament. Can't wait.
