I'm far too lone wolf to share my space with anyone but my kids. Even then they're out the door in a decade or so.

It depends on exactly where you want to live. If you can get internet and running water and be near a grocery store, there are lots of places in the USA that are cheap to live and not have neighbors. The problem is doing it while you have a job in a major city, your commute will suck.

My plan is to get some land in BFE that can get decent internet, I don't mind driving to a grocery store.

What kind of money? Well, if there are no utilities, then it can be super cheap. This lot looks super cheap ($1,200 for a 1/4 acre) but of course internet may be an issue, as well as electricity and actually getting to the place since it says you need a truck.

I'd say look for hunting land in the area you want to live, that way you can rent it out to hunters during hunting season, plus it'll be cheap and far away from civilization.
