If we sign Pogba I'll donate £50 to a charity of this subs choice.

Edit: I've made note of you lot following me. I'll hold you up.

Euros start today and no Zlatan.

Sky becoming less reliable by the day.

Bailley yesterday, Carrick extension today, Zlatan tomorrow? :)

I thought it was reported that it would not happen until July, because Zlatan was set to receive a bonus payment from PSG at the end of June.

tbf I dont know what was originally said but Cooper said it wouldnt be done this week.

It was never going to be anyway, there was little chance of Sweeden letting their top player go to Manchester for a couple of days to finalize a transfer that could be sorted at any time when they are about to start a major tournament.

Sweden will be done after match day 3 anyway. Won't have to wait long.

John Peacock has joined Manchester United as a youth team adviser

Alright so the article is from The Sun, which I believe is banned here, but it appears to be legitimate. It's not really something they would report if it wasn't certain. I've copied it below but the link is here if you want it.

Manchester United recruit England youth bigwig John Peacock as academy consultant

MANCHESTER UNITED have drafted in the most-successful England youth coach ever as they continue to restructure the club’s academy, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

John Peacock, who guided the Three Lions to the UEFA Under-17s European Championship twice during his time with the Football Association, has joined the Red Devils as an academy consultant.

The 60-year-old arrives at Carrington as one of the most qualified coaches in Europe and he has the CV to match his impressive credentials.

Following an initial spell at the FA in the 1990s, Peacock took up the role of academy director at Derby County before the Three Lions came calling again in 2002.

He left Pride Park to take charge of England’s youth side, and he has helped a string of stars develop through the age-groups into the first-team before he left the role as U17s boss last summer.

Former Scunthorpe United full-back Peacock led a squad containing the likes of Jack Butland, Nat Chalobah, Saido Berahino and Ross Barkley to Euro glory in 2010 as they defeated Spain in the final – the first time England had won the tournament at that age-group.

And he repeated the feat four years later as a victory over Holland secured a second success.

Peacock was also a key figure in the FA’s coaching set-up in his role as head of senior elite coach development. This involved directing the UEFA Pro licence coaching badge.

Ryan Giggs, who is still deciding to accept a role at United under new manager Jose Mourinho, was just one of several big names to gain their coaching badges under Peacock’s tutelage.

Having conquered international competition twice, a return to Derby and club football proved too hard to resist last summer as he joined another of his graduates Paul Clement at Pride Park as part of his backroom team.

The dup were both surprisingly sacked by the club in February, despite sitting fourth in the Championship, but that will not put a stain on the widely-respected Peacock’s reputation.

After several years of coaching the club’s youth sides, Nicky Butt was promoted to United’s head of academy earlier this year.

His move to bring in the experienced voice of Peacock, albeit in a part-time capacity initially, is just the latest step in the former United and England star’s revolutionising of the youth set-up at Carrington.

As much as signings excite me, it's news like these that really keep me going about United. Building from the ground up is what we need and if this news is true, along with a few other Academy related news that we've received recently, it will only help build our foundations for tomorrow

Me too. The academy makes United what it is.

Anyone knows how reliable is that report about Embolo?

I think I saw a Swiss guy saying in the /r/soccer thread that even though the paper/website wasn't that reliable, the specific journalist has links with Embolo's agent. I'll try to find it.

I can't answer your question but it's worth nothing that both Kicker and Bild in Germany say he's going to the Bundesliga.

AS: Mourinho offers €100m for Pogba but Juve will ask for €120m.

Of course AS aren't so reliable, but in my opinion, this isn't so unlikely for an offer like this to happen.

If he goes to Real i'd love to bid for Kroos.

Kroos would seem so much more likely to be honest, considering back in March Bouhafsi reported that we are willing to pay 50 million euros for him... (At the same time when Mourinho was preparing and checking out players)

Fuck it if true pay the 120 if it gets us Pogba but then again Mourinho doesn't seem like the kind do if guy that would pay if he feels he's being ripped off

Stones going to City.

Well wish him all the best.

hell no

We're already got Bailly no need for him

[–]Tmsan 0

The only similarities they share are that they're both CBs.

I've seen a few people mention this but where has it been said?

Makes sense with the Bailly signing. We wouldn't sign two young/raw CBs when we really need someone proven.

Happy with that, he's been terrible for most of the season. Only hyped up because he's young and English, if he was Romanian he'd be going out on loan to League 1.
