Chill dude, he can weigh what he wants as much as we can comment about how he looks

I'm chill enough, but I will tell someone to back off on making other people paranoid by comparing them to stereotypes. Would you like to have reddit threads dedicated to telling you that you've been fat? I understand that most people here don't understand psychology, and that's perfectly fine. But don't comment publicly on other people's appearences unless it's to tell them that they look good, and even then, why are you doing it exactly? You need to share your opinion of what looks good with others? What? "Better than before" is not a very nice way of expressing it either.

What the hell man.... No one said he was fat, no one compared him to anyone or anything. OP stated a fact. It's a fact. No matter how you put it, no matter how much SJW you want to be, Billie lost weight. You can't fucking deny it. Whether he looks good or not is entirely subjective, but OP is entitled to his opinion about it.

And yes, it's perfectly fine for us to comment on his looks. He's a public figure and as such it's normal for people to comment on whatever he does. If I wanted to say he looks awful, I could. It would be my opinion and I can express it. Would I be nice? Not really, but I think Billie has bigger worries than comments on a website he probably doesn't even know that exists.

You don't tell a close friend publicly that he's looking bad, because it's impolite. You comment on a public figure's appearance because it's part of being a public figure: being subject to public appreciation. And for fucks sake dude, no one is even saying anything mean about Billie. Even if OP was saying that Billie is looking good because he lost weight (HE ISN'T SAYING THAT), then it would still be a nice comment because he's supporting Billie on his new looks. Or are you going to say we shouldn't support the way people want to look?

Wrong from the getgo, an opinion isn't a fact and you don't know if he's lost weight either if that's what you were referring to.

Public figures are still human beings, and should be treated accordingly, keep it to yourself if you think someone looks awful, it doesn't help you nor him to comment on it.

If you've got nothing better to do than discuss someone's look on a forum, I don't even know what you're doing with the rest of your life. I love Green Day, and for me it's upsetting to see that people spend their time talking about a person's appearence in their free time when they could be doing something themselves instead. Green Day is a band that is so much bigger, that talks about the issues in the world, and yet it isn't their works that attracts people, it's how cool the human being behind them looks. That's just sad.

Either you're delusional or you're being sarcastic. It's pretty objective that his face is thinner, indicating he has lost weight. Apparently that's not a fact to you, and if you can't accept that then there's no hope.

Then you say that people can't have opinions on the looks of public figures, which somehow makes them different from people we know in real life. We all have the right to say whatever we want about whoever we want with regards to their looks. OP said Billie is looking good. And you got pised off.

Then at the end you mentioned that it's sad how people could be doing something for themselves instead of wasting time worrying about the looks at people when YOU (yes you) have written the longest comments arguing a point that everybody else is in agreement with - Billie looks good. That's it, end of story. Nobody is saying they only care about his looks, just that he lost weight and looks good. If you can't handle freedom of speech or opinions that differ from your own, either grow up or get off of reddit.

It might be objective that his face is thinner, don't know, don't care. It's still not a fact, it might as well be a disease for all we know.

I didn't get pissed off, I simply pointed out what was wrong with it.

Yes, I am here arguing about it because people should start considering the lives of those they speak of. And you people can agree on whatever you want, that's not why I'm here. But clearly you don't understand that so I won't bother any further.

    [–]pointzero 2ポイント3ポイント  (1子コメント)

No I definitely understand what you're talking about, it's called being sensitive to others feelings. I just don't see any point where OP said something bad that Billie might have truly been devastated over.

Not quite actually, I'm merely pointing out the pointlessness in pointing out points that are pointless.

If you've got nothing better to do than discuss someone's look on a forum, I don't even know what you're doing with the rest of your life.

And yet here you are discussing about people discussing about looks on a forum.

I don't give a flying fuck about how they look, I care about how they sound. I can, however, comment on it. There's absolutely no problem in saying that Billie was way fatter during Warning and way thinner during American Idiot. I wouldn't like the music any less if he was fat or ugly. I don't like his music any more or any less if he has green, blue, purple, blonde or black hair. I can say "hey I think he looks good with purple hair", yet I don't really give a fuck about it, I'm just expressing an opinion. Saying "x is fat" doesn't implicitly say I like x any less. I think you are the one making assumptions.

Yes, I am here discussing it because I'm trying to change the attitude of people towards hardworking celebrities.

I'm not saying you'd dislike him just because you think that he's fat. I'm saying that it's not very productive for you, and especially not for him, to discuss his looks publicly, more than anything it's just rude towards that person.

[–]IHaveThisUsernameIn for nasty weather 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Oh, it's definitely not productive you are right on that. But is reddit a place we usually come to do something productive?

    [–]FreakyIdiota 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Hopefully. There's tons of information on here to learn from, and there's tons of points of views of other people to learn from by discussing different matters.
