[–]karazykid[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I get that, but how do you get their attention in the first place. What if you're not by any staff? Do you leave and hope you can find a staff member, and then remember where to go back to? Do you leave your friend down in a mosh pit?

Do those say they are rated R? That's weird to me as I am used to seeing rated M.

It really doesn't bother me. Nobody on the department is forcing me to do it. I do it out of respect, I don't lose any sleep doing it.

Sorry you're getting so much hate for this comment. It's exactly what I do. We pray every meeting, we go to churches quite often for events. I find it respectful to stand, take my hat off and bow my head with the rest of the department when we have our prayer at our meetings. Community events even at a church, can still be fun and get us good PR, so I don't have a single issue attending functions like that.

100% agree lol. Our double fatality house fire had four of us. Between toning out first, second, and third alarm, calling power company, gas company, fire chief, asst fire chief, fire Marshall, EMS, funeral home, JP, etc etc etc, it was still over whelming. I couldn't imagine being alone.

You're absolutely right, but if you have a dispatcher struggling with a call, saying "oh by the way, you fucked up" doesn't help anything. What you do then is exactly what happened to OP. Now she is not wanting to go to the debriefing because of how the FD is being towards her.

I get its an issue that needs to be corrected but there are better ways of going about it than the fire chief complaining to the chief of police.

Hey do what you got to do to feel better. I find cranking up my radio and screaming to some songs make me feel a hell of a lot better. But I'm on deep nights so I'm sitting in our chat alone, so I'll be there if you need anything lol.

Firstly, your fire chief can screw off. My agency worked the exact same call last week and there are 4 of us in here tag teaming everything needed to be done during a fire and we still felt like we were falling behind. So kudos to you. We make mistakes and you can guarantee that the FD, PD, and EMS will get all the kudos, while everyone will find reasons to shit all over you and every minor mistake you made. I don't mean to sound so blunt, but I really hate that. Yeah, you made a mistake, but there is a time and a place.

Secondly, don't ever blame yourself, there is nothing you could of done different that would of saved their life.

Thirdly, absolutely go to the debriefing if you need to. They can be good for you. Never ever be afraid to say you need to talk to someone.

If you need someone to chat with I can meet you in our live chat and we can live chat there if you want.

Firefighting 内の A-97- によるリンク What was your best call?

[–]karazykid 8ポイント9ポイント  (0子コメント)

I've shared a few here, but I have a new one.

We got toned to a male subject having seizures, I was the only one from my FD who made scene and I went inside to check on patient. He was no longer having seizures and was up and speaking. I checked some vitals and EMS came across the radio saying they still had a 15 minute ETA. So I just started having small talk with the patient. I looked over and noticed a HUGE stack of porn DVDs sitting on his living room table next to where he was. I don't know why, but I picked up a couple and started looking at the front and back and ask the patient "these any good?" just to kind of pick on him. He then goes "YEAH!" and get's really excited and starts talking about a few of the scenes. I had to stop him and tell him I was just joshin' him. He kind of looked at me and goes "you can have one if you want". I busted out laughing. This is definitely one of those stories where you had to be there to get I guess.

I have only used one little dash light for the past 4 years and it has never let me down. It's a Code-3 XT601 LED Windshield Light. I have it placed pretty much in the same spot in my Journey as the guy in this video. It works great day and night for such a tiny light. I don't like big fancy lights, so it serves me well.

[–]karazykid 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

I agree with your last statement, actually your whole statement. I came into this as a parent who had to make a semi-hard decision. My son was born with a heart condition and they told me that day "he needs open heart surgery in the next couple weeks or he's going to die". Obviously that fucked me up. People say "if it's between live or die, you choose live moron!" We obviously, but it's not that easy on your mind. They started telling me all they had to do and it was heart breaking and I would lie if I didn't say I immediately started searching for an alternate fix to his heart that would be less painful. Ultimately I chose the surgery, and the next month of living in the hospital was the hardest time of my life.

YET my mother in law who IS into natural stuff was pissed we were going to let them do that to him. She wanted to pray over him, and "pass good vibes through him". She also got pissed when she heard we vaxinated our kids >.> So I'm not against medicine and treatment once so ever. Just understood how that could be a rough decision. But yeah, fuck people who won't even give it a shot because of their beliefs.

I'm glad it worked for you, I really am. But radiotherapy isn't the only thing this kid was going to receive. He was going to get radiotherapy AND chemotherapy, at the same time. If you think that would be easy and painless on a child, you are greatly mistaken.
