But.. why? If the company went out of business, there wouldn't be a game to play so it wouldn't matter if you can prove that you own one particular copy of a spaceship.. Sounds like a cheap cashgrab to me

You are taking games and in-game economy way too serious.

You need a break,... or, help. :D

It's not about the game, it's about pumping his crypto-currency of choice and trying to create a "solution" for a problem that doesn't exist.

This could be very dangerous. If you actually own the property in game instead of it being the intellectual property of CIG, real laws come into effect. If someone steals your ship you could charge them with theft. If someone scams you, you could charge them with fraud.

Not really, this has come up in EVE before. If I open up a physical location where you play flag football but instead of flags you have hundred dollar bills on your belt and the winner keeps the money than you agreed to those terms when you started the game. The same general principle would apply with starcitizen, by virtue of playing the game you understand that money is at stake.

The last time I read the tos, you don't own anything in eve. Everything in the game is the intellectual property of CCP.

EVE is an example of a in game currency that relates to actual money. You can look up stories of how salty people can get after loosing said money, and more stories of people loosing thousands in seconds. It is a game. Keep it as a game.
