I'm (guessing) he probably tried to run the .exe from inside the .zip (bad idea). The .zip has a folder named "farcraft", all he needed to do was drag the folder to his desktop (or anywhere) and then open the folder and run the .exe from his native file system.

FARCRAFT® is a NoReg app. It does NOT use the registry nor does it ever touch anything outside the install folder.

The USPTO records that my site was the first commercial use of FARCRAFT™ on 2012-JUN-6.

Simply using a trademark early is not actually enough to get a circle R for a Class 9 video game. You really do need to have a product to sell.

I realize that there are a buttload of MINECRAFT® hive boys that love ____ - CRAFT for their servers names. As near as I can tell, it was Ubisoft™ Montreal that caused the MINECRAFT® hive boys to glom onto FARCRAFT®.

It is very unfortunate how slow the USPTO process is, but that is life.

FARCRAFT® got it's circle R on 2016-MAY-10 so it has had the right to exist for almost a month now.

The download button on the home page just takes you to the download page. On the download page you can find the individual binary links.

I used to sell software to online poker players who were playing for real money. They cared about security a thousand time more than you do. On day one, hackers in 3 different parts of the world began attempts to inject the .exe with every kind of hack they had (you can imagine how valuable it would be to hack a piece of software used to play for real money). They all failed.

All of the user security that was used in my poker software is inside the FARCRAFT® client. If you change even a single bit/byte in the client, it will not run.

If you put the FARCRAFT® logo graphic anywhere on a your MINECRAFT® hive boy home page, you can add Copyright infringement to evidence we're collecting to present to your ISP and your government agencies.

This issue isn't just going to go away boys. FARCRAFT® is not your personal brand. You cannot legally use it.

You need to respect the property of others.

FARCRAFT® is a free download.

Non-paying customers get limited access to only certain sandbox of the many hundreds available.

But for just learning, all you really need are:

The PG is a land sandbox so you could spend the rest of your life there entirely for free and see quite a bit about FARCRAFT® in the process.

The conflict is between two distinct Class 9 PC video games named MINECRAFT® and FARCRAFT®.

We're not talking about Yogurt or Shoes or Tofu. We're talking about Class 9 video games as defined by the USPTO.

We're talking about a thing called MINECRAFT® and a separate thing called FARCRAFT®.

As of 2016-MAY-10, it became illegal to promote a MINECRAFT® hive boy server by raping the FARCRAFT® brand - how you feel about this simply does not matter. It is the law.

As of yesterday reddit is complicit in trademark infringement

Dude I could care less how you want to characterize the act of cleansing a brand in the public-eye. It isn't pretty (as you can tell). It isn't exactly what I'd like to be doing. But it has to be done if the brand is to have any kind of respect as having a right to exist.

Right now the MINECRAFT® hive boys are raping a registered circle R and reddit is complicit.

You can expect me to be very unpleasant about this. I already tried the gentle quiet path for a year. That failed miserably yesterday.

My assumptions were based on what the admins instructed me to do:

Get 500 karma
Get a real circle R

If the context is "Please tell me everything I need to do" and they say those things then should've included

Prevent /u/Kittenbeard from logging in for 60 days

My point is that the reddit admins always presented the belief that /u/Kittenbeard was long gone. I had no reason to distrust them.

But yesterday /u/Chtorrr sends a single reply after making me wait 28 days which said "The moderator has been active in the past 60 days." with no further explanation.

So yes, reddit is acting badly right now.

Every namespace authority has their own rules for how things happen. IANNA has rules independent of the USPTO. I know this because I had to purchase farcraft.com.

But in the case you cite, notice that the current home page of Nissan.com is not actually infringing the NISSAN® circle R. In other words, you don't see that site promoting a TOYOTA® game server as NISSAN® do you? Because if they did then that is against trademark laws.

As I've said already, /r/Farcraft was NOT Grandma Far's knitting circle was it? This is a case of one Class 9 PC brand raping another Class 9 PC brand.

And as of yesterday reddit is complicit in trademark infringement.

Yes it feels like reddit lied based of the experience of it. From the POV of what I can see, /u/Kittenbeard has been non-existent in /r/Farcraft for 2+ years so I never even entered my mind that reddit would allow him to log once per 60 days just to hold a circle R hostage.

It makes reddit look really bad.

You do not learn how to trump MINECRAFT® in less time. Many have tried and failed - the evidence is everywhere.

FARCRAFT® is less than a month old in the public-eye and yes, FARCRAFT® is going to try to eat a major section of the MINECRAFT® market share. Now ask me how many want to see MINECRAFT® deal with some serious competition and begin to lose market share.

The public does not yet know the full story. I'd like to tell it here on reddit but I will not do that without having some kind of moderator control.

I own the circle R and that means I have the legal power to prevent it's use without my consent. I do NOT consent to let the MINECRAFT® hive boys benefit from my circle R.

And I do not consent to allow reddit to allow MINECRAFT® hive boys to continue to rape my circle R.

No temp sub. And I won't do one. I expect reddit to honor the right of FARCRAFT® to exist at /r/Farcraft, the same as:

They cannot have it both ways. They cannot pander to the INB4 mentality and respect circle R trademarks. The United States Patent Office is about a million times slower than the speed that any redditor can create a sub.

Reddit has a lot to gain by honoring circle R trademarks.

Any product is worthless if it cannot produce something valuable in the market place.

The current state of FARCRAFT® is greater than what Notch had here:

But instead of being able to just promote FARCRAFT® like Notch did for his brand, I have to first go repair all of the damage done to the FARCRAFT® trademark for the past 3 years.

Read this sub and notice the mentality that does not want FARCRAFT® to even exist.

Yes it would be great if reddit decided to change their policy of contempt for trademark holders. I would benefit greatly if reddit would help me build the FARCRAFT® brand rather than help the MINECRAFT® hive boys rape my brand.

Ok. So since I'd like /r/Farcraft to be about FARCRAFT®, what does that mean other than that so far reddit is demonstrating contempt for holders of circle R brands?

I've single handedly revived this sub from complete deadness.

If reddit wants to give the nod to the MINECRAFT® hive boys here then reddit needs to do 2 things to resolve the legal trademark issues:

Rename the sub from /r/Farcraft to /r/Kittencraft
Force /u/Kittenbeard to divorce all references to FARCRAFT®

Or reddit can solve the legal problems by:

Granting /u/Riitoken moderator control for /r/Farcraft

I would then make this place about the real FARCRAFT® and I would begin forming relationship with gamers that were actually interested in FARCRAFT® the same as Notch did when he got MINECRAFT® started.

I just want a friendly place where I can talk to the FARCRAFT® players and get their feedback and make FARCRAFT® better than what it already is.

My motives are normal and sane.
