That makes exactly zero sense.

They didn't want off-topic comments on the main sub so they shunted it all to BOLA. Now they don't want off-topic comments in BOLA so they're shunting it off to a third subreddit.

If you think off-topic comments are garbage that's fine, but what they're doing right now isn't the equivalent of taking out the garbage - it's the equivalent of shuffling the garbage into newer and newer trash cans, all of which are still sitting in your backyard.

If they don't want a LegalAdvice affiliate that's dedicated to off-topic commentary - that's totally fine, but then the solution is for them to bow out, disavow any relation to them, and let someone else start a "trash" discussion in a different backyard. Not to create one community after another only to smack them down a year later.
