Showerthoughts 内の skyforgerer によるリンク I'm lucky enough to live in a country where if I hear an air raid siren I expect it to be followed by phat bass and a banging tune.

[–]theoman333 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

In Israel we unfortunately have experience with sirens that alert us of incoming missles. In 2014, there was a war, in which many missles were shot over by Hamas. Anyways, next year during Holocaust memorial day, there was a siren. This happens normally, at 10:00 am at this day, and everyone stands still out of respect. But I was asleep, and out of bewilderment and habit, I ran to the nearest shelter. Needless to say, my friends had a good laugh.

Everyone stating Newton's third law is wrong. The normal force from the earth is NOT the equal and opposite force from the earth on you. That force is actually you pulling on the earth! Yes, all of us are pulling on the earth, but since we're so small, the earth doesn't budge. The normal force is different from this force. I think I'm right, correct me if I'm wrong physics God's.

I think saying that consciousness arises from unconscious material is as ridiculous as invoking other zany explanations. It's all speculation at the end of the day, nobody is saying It's true. We're just spitballing here. All I'm saying is that we just don't know. We don't. And it could be anything.

I don't think it's dualism per se, but it's just asking one of the largesr questions in science today, the hard problem of conciousness. How can we, which are made up a bunch of cells, which are made a bunch of conscious neurons be conscious? How can anything be conscious for that matter?

AskPhysics 内の [deleted] によるリンク Question about internal energy.

[–]theoman333 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

A. Internal energy is a measure of the total energy of all the particles in the system. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy. Since b has more particles but with the same speed, it has more internal energy. I think.

For me, its because you just realize how strange consciousness is. We have no idea what's going on, so why not? Doesn't mean its true, but it becomes more plausible once you understand this.

I dont really know if there's a way to structure it to get more of what you want. Hopefully, when they become legal and are will be used for medical purposes, others will have the answer. I did start getting more into meditation afterwards, because I finally understood the point of it - losing the sense of self, being more attentive to the world around me. I also think there are going to be big differences between MDMA and any other drug. I haven't tried MDMA yet, but I will want to use it to become a more loving person. Have you tried shrooms?

Yes. It's not something specific during the trip, and it's not just the trip, but also other changes I was going through. It was a gradual process and I really started realizing it two weeks after the trip - so I could see it wasn't afterglow but genuine change of who I was. I just became more.. "awake", more aware of sounds and sights around me, more "in the moment " and less in thought. More open to express emotion. And a happier person overall. It's like the LSD turned something on in my brain that had been turned off.

You talk much about controlling your endocrine and immune system. I just don't really understand how this is possible. Do you feel these systems when meditating? How are you able to feel them? Do you think your technique can be used medicinally to cure diseases? To help people with immunological or hormonal insufficiencies?

Do you have any experience with psychedelics? What do you think of psychedelics as a shortcut instead of meditation?

I must add that I appreciate your willingness to back your methods with scientific testing. Thank you for being an extraordinary human being.

Yes midfulness. I was like you too, I still am, but I made a bug change. You've heard it all before "being in the present, in the moment". I was able to get better at this with LSD. I took a short route. Meditation will achieve the same thing, but requires dedication. Good luck.

Neurons are cells. How does consciousness arise in electricity. How do a a bunch of micro actions, constructed by micro particles, which at the end of the day all abide the laws of physics create a macro "mind" or "I"? Sure we can see where in the brain we feel hungry or happy or sad, but how does the feeling arise? Why don't we just simply react to stimuli like a bacterium? Are bacteria concious? At what point in evolution did consciousness arise? Is that even a logical question? Is that like asking how the eye or our livers were formed?
