It seems like a mystery but all we have to do is think back to our science classes as children.

Upvotes are invigorating. Having your post heavily upvotes is like a nice pat on the back. A hearty handshake for a job well done. The props or kudos you rightfully deserved. Downvotes are debilitating. They physically and mentally drain you. They take a toll on your body like you were trying to lift a 500lb bag of concrete. Not only did you fail to lift the bag, but it sapped your energy.

Upvotes and downvotes adhere to the law of conservation of energy. Votes, whether they be up or down, can not be created or destroyed. They all come from somewhere. For every /u/fuckswithducks that has a kajillion updoots, there's a stinky dumpster troll with an insurmountable amount of spooky downdoots.

So remember fellow students of the dank meme arts, doots gotta come from someone or somewhere, so be careful when you're involved in the transferring of the up and down doots. And if you ever set your doots down unaccompanied, just leave them there. You never know if they've been spiked, so let someone else who is more desperate, reckless, and isn't concerned for their own safety and wellbeing pick up your roofiedoots. A few seconds of doot glory isn't worth of lifetime of doot warts, DAIDS, syphidoots, dootrape, just to name a few.
