Everton will have been well aware that the end of the season would bring more claims regarding Romelu Lukaku's future at the club, or potential future elsewhere. The striker has had a good campaign, and had largely stopped talking about a potential exit, but that changed in recent months.
Lukaku's father, Roger, has already given out his thoughts, and has now reiterated what he wants to happen, and what he thinks will happen this summer.
Speaking to Humo magazine in Belgium, and quoted by RTBF, Roger Lukaku explained: "Right now, I think the most suitable clubs for him are Bayern Munich or Manchester United. Especially Bayern as the club every year are at least in the semi finals of the Champions League, and the Bundesliga suits him perfectly. I do not think he will go to Italy because the game is far too closed at the back. What is certain is that to continue to progress, he needs to change club, he must make the right choice."
Bayern Munich are pretty set upfront with Robert Lewandowksi, and Thomas Muller as an option if the Polish international isn't available. Manchester United have had a poor season and Lukaku would be an impressive purchase, but may hold back the development of Marcus Rashford, who, if he carries his form into next season, may well challenge Lukaku's number of goals.
Other parts of the interview are coming out and HLN's Kristof Terreur quotes Roger Lukaku as saying: "Everton are asking around £65m for Rom. I think a transfer will be done before the Euros."
