Probably one of the best games of all time.

Though I don't enjoy sci-fi as much as fantasy, I will still buy Cyberpunk.

If CDPR maintain their current values and philosophy, I will be a customer for life.

I've heard from lots of sources that it's a great game, but I've been dissuaded from playing because I know it will be another 100+ hour time sink. Between Fallout and Metal Gear I needed a break from sandboxy epics. Maybe with this summer lull in games I'll dive into it.

It's epic, but it's not particularly sandboxy. The mechanics are really tight, even though there is a ton to learn, and the story is top notch.

If you can avoid playing the game as a completionist The Witcher 3 could probably be finished in 40 hours playing at a leisurely pace. The story is so fucking cool and the gameplay so tight and responsive that I'd hate for someone to miss out on it because of it's intimidating amount of content. It's been on PS4 for $25 recently which is a steal, IMO.

I started out just wanting to "get through it," but quickly found myself being completely emersed in the world. Especially when you get to Skellige. Then I found myself doing every side quest, and upgrading my armor to master class. Easily top 5 best game I've ever played, and I've been playing games since before NES.

I had the exact same experience. The world is so deep and with so much detail and content that I found myself exploring the lore and details of the world for my own enjoyment. I spent so many extra hours trying to do the most minor of things and trying to complete every side quest I could find and activate. It's one of the only games other then the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series that really submerged me in the game's setting and made me forget about what's around me in the real world.

The Bloody Baron is such a great character.

So much depth and heartache to the guy. And the way certain things can unfold is just fucking brutal.

Also, when you first explain what a Botchling is to him. That 'A fucking WHAT?!' is one of my favorite lines in any game.

One of my favorite things about the game is the way that every quest and side quest feels important.

In White Orchard, for example, there's the hunter who was gay lovers with a lord's son. There's also the well with the noon wraith, where the woman was killed for calling the lord's son gay. You can miss either of this, but together they tell a deep story that's over before the game even starts.

God that fucking botchling fight on death march was almost the death of me. Got to it at like level 3 - 4 with the starting gear... on my first play through ever. Now I'm level 15 and the game is so fucking easy but damn. Dat botchling.

Edit: also, bloody baron is my boy

I also love that they give you so many opprotunities to give him sympathy while never forcing you too.

I was always a dick to him, the bastard. Great character though, story wise.

It's more than just a run of the mill sandbox game. It's what Skyrim and Fallout should be down the line and what games should be moving towards in the broader aspects. You might sink loads of time into it but every hour is exciting, action packed, and a thrill ride to remember. Of course the mechanics had a few kinks, but that's a problem with all games and anyways they're still updating constantly.

Definitely. It's one of the only games I've played for hours and completely lost track of time.

Agreed. Its very rare for me to be able to sit and play a video game for more than an hour or two these days. Well, Witcher changed that, and I found myself sitting in front of the computer for hours on end almost every day. Its an absolutely captivating story, fun game mechanics, and give you a real drive to keep pushing on. I didn't even realize some of the side quests were side quests because they were so in depth. Now, yeah, some of them are simple errand running, no doubt, but some developers make whole games of errand running quests.

Would you recommend someone whose never played the series at least rent the other two before jumping into 3?

It's going to add a lot if you do, but it's not going to hurt too bad if you don't. My first W3 play through was my first experience with Witcher as a series, and it was great. I've gone back a bit since then, and there's more depth to some old relationships in the game, and context for politics and things of that sort. Either way, you're going to have a good time at least, I'm sure.

No need. They do a good job of explaining everything you need to know. I didn't play the other 2 and didn't feel lost on anything

I jumped straight into 3 and it's one of the best games I've ever played. Beyond enjoyable. Every little side quest is just so well thought out and adds so much to the experience. There has never been a game to NAIL optional side quests like W3

Witcher 1 is more hardcore rpg. I think you might want to start with 2, that's where is gets more action rpg. 3 is great sequel to 2.

I would say 2 is probably worth it but you may as well just read up on 1. I loved the game but the game play is archaic. If your into that go for it. I know I did

If you care that much about the story/setting, then it's not a bad idea to play through the first two. However, the first Witcher IMHO is very dated. I always opt to skip it when I want to play the series again.

I dont get this obsession in the last few years about "sandbox" stuff in RPG,sandbox stuff was never among the top things most important in RPG imho ofc,but characters, story, incredible world, awesome quests thats what makes an rpg amazing to me,but to each his own i guess different people different tastes.

The mechanics are really tight

I do feel this is a little dishonest. The mechanics are ok. The combat is, if we're being honest, not very good, and the skill trees really don't allow for much variety. Stuff like alchemy and bombs are fun for a while, but they get old fast; same with magic, and definitely with sword-play.

It's still a great game, but I do believe the actual gameplay is a bit overstated. Play it for the writing and story, not for the combat.

Disagree completely, I love the combat of Witcher 3. Its miles ahead of other fantasy rpgs like Skyrim.

It is certainly ahead of Skyrim. But just because it is ahead of RT spam doesn't mean it's good. It's no where near the calibre of a game like Dark Souls for instance.

I'm not going to lie. I didn't like the DS combat system, and I still have no idea why. It just felt...clunky, even though I know it's a lot better than my mind is currently believing it is.

Happens with a lot of people when they haven't played much of it. I'd be surprised if you played through the whole game and still thought that.

I have and do. The combat system is clunky to me. Sometimes I roll after what looks like I got hit, and I take no damage. Sometimes I roll ahead of time, it hits where I used to be and I still get hit and I'm like how?

It's definitely a challenging game, but I think it's overhyped because of it's difficulty first play through vs it's combat system being good.

I didn't find combat good either, something didn't click in me with it idk, sometimes you roll right in front of an enemy and you can evade attacks just by rolling, in W3 iif you roll into an enemy you always get hit.

Well, you're talking about Dark Souls here. It's probably one of the best at combat mechanics. Witcher 3 doesn't even come close.

Sure. It's as invalid as saying that The Witcher's combat is good because it's better than Skyrim's. I was merely responding to that specific point.

Alchemy and bombs are imo a must on higher difficulty levels. Where you might even need to use toxicity to your advantage.

The Trial of the Grasses perk where time slows down before a counterattack when your toxicity is sufficiently high is a really fun time.

I don't think the combat not being good is "us being honest", I think that's your take on obviously being unhappy with it. I think the combat has a lot of depth and I quite enjoy it a lot

yeah this is my problem with witcher. I find the combat incredibly dull. Not sure how I would fix it if i were them other than just going full on diablo 3 style but I genuinely dislike their games because the combat is boring

I saw it mentioned in news articles when the Witcher came out and highly recommend it as well. Play the game on Blood and Broken Bones difficulty or above. Anything below that and you have no reason to rely on your alchemy, oils, bombs or knowledge of monsters.

The Witcher really succeeds in MAKING you feel like a monster hunter, often requiring specific knowledge of the creature you're facing and how to counter it, but that knowledge can be blown past on lower levels.

They also added a "sync enemy creatures to your level" option in the latest patch that is helpful for maintaining the requirement to focus on your knowledge and alchemy. It's a hugely rewarding experience.

At that difficulty level, for instance, you don't regain health when you meditate so you are often utilizing healing items a lot more and things hit really hard even if they're several levels below you. It makes combat very tense and exciting, and you have to make good use of your resources and spend time researching monsters in the bestiary to beat them.

You could take the most minuscule side quest in The Witcher 3 and the quality and game mechanic would still be better than most other RPG free roam games. I mean half the time when I'm doing side quests I forget that I'm not even on a main quest they seem like the main story, they're that intriguing.

The beauty of a sandbox single player title is it is always waiting for you. I bought Witcher 3 on sale and didn't have the time to play it for months, and even though I was late to the party I still had a blast.

Witcher 3 is not a time sink friend its a work of art that any gamer that enjoys RPG games owes to himself to play. Simply incredible game,im not ever afraid to overhype it to anyone,if you know what makes a epic RPG and enjoy all the little things among most immersive world and characters i ever played give it a go.

With the Summer Sale coming to Steam on June 23rd, now is a better time then ever if you don't have any other commitments.

Probably a bit /r/patient gamer but I want to have a better GPU than my AMD 5850 before I tackle W3. GOTY will be at the top of my Steam Winter sale list.

What about a game that is so good it will make you cry?

It's legit one of the best games I've ever played. I tend to hop back and forth between multiple games at a time (Overwatch, Fallout 4 and Mirror's Edge Catalyst right now) but I played nothing but Witcher 3 for about a month.

It's a lot more story driven than most open world games so it doesn't suffer from that same feeling of endlessness. I did every quest I could on the hardest difficulty and was sad when I finally got to the end. I'm gonna do a full playthrough before playing the last expansion, but I'm putting it off for as long as possible coz I don't want to say goodbye to the series yet. :(

My feelings exactly. They've won me over with the quality of their games, they way they approach DLC and how they treat their fans.

CD Projekt Red has set the bar real high now for what an open-world RPG should aspire to be.

If they show as much love for Cyberpunk's source as they did for Witcher's, we'll have a few more masterpieces on our hands.

I'm the opposite. Not big on fantasy, but TW3 got me so damn excited for Cyberpunk.

I'm already hooked no matter what happens. For the amount of joy and time I've gotten from the Witcher series, they deserve even more praise and payment then I can give them alone.

i really feel bad for not buying the game since im afraid my pc might shit on me. if i ever get a ps4 ill pick that up ASAP.

Old PC or just low specs? Played it with a 750ti and it still looked and ran great.

Ooh, what settings are you using? Haven't even installed mine yet cause I wasn't sure if it would run with a decent frame rate

The game plays fine on an i3 530 with gtx550ti at 1600x1200..You can't be THAT bad of-course if you want all fancy stuff it's a good time to upgrade (and the upcoming 200$ rx480 looks quite promising!)

I had no idea they were making a Cyberpunk game, as someone who spent years playing the RPG, count me as very excited. I can only hope they make an expansion that is Cyberpunk 2013 and have it be a late 80's- early 90's style future world.

They released a teaser some time ago, in case you missed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P99qJGrPNLs

I did miss that, thanks so much, I'm about to flip over my desk at work with excitement! I couldn't think of a better team to be making this, and that trailer looks like they nailed it.

I've seen that about 167 times. And it keeps getting better. Every. Single. Time.

https://youtu.be/SNxjUrqcw-c?t=9

I hope it's gonna be a real cyberpunk game, the trailer looks like it. You know, before they added -punk to everything because of the style and not the philosophy. When x-punk meant rebellion against the system.

I'm crossing my fingers over here.

They also have the original creator for Cyberpunk working with them in terms of story and a few other things.

I hate to be the one to preach Econ101, but it seems a lot of gamers are oblivious to the fact that we do indeed have the power here. By casting our dollar votes toward developers that put the customer (and the final product) at the top of their list of priorities, we effectively choose how the video game market treats us.

If we exercise no self-control and absolutely have to buy every new-yet-unfinished game from every developer to prove what great nerds we are, then the onus is never placed on these companies to change.

I feel the same way. I just hope that the work environment there is improving. If you look at reviews from previous employees at a site like glassdoor.com, it doesn't paint a particularly pretty picture of what it's like to work there.

and i think the poor controls in witcher 1 and 2 completly ruin the franchise as a whole(and witcher 3's werent much better..

ill never get the hype when other CRPG's have been better

A company that truly appreciates and values their customers.

The word for it isn't DLC. It's a full blown expansion.

The term DLC for me is synonymous with much lesser content for purchase after a game's release.

Well it IS DLC. It's content and you download it. That DLC just happens to be a full expansion. Something that many developers have forgotten existed.

Yeah the wording is perhaps debatable, but the sentiment behind the statement is valid

10 years ago we had expansions and addons, today everything's called DLC.

Probably because nowadays they content doesn't expand the game or add anything of value

Neither of those is true. Blood and Wine is an expansion pack, and is very much in the vein of expansion packs (large amount of content, implemented in the same engine).

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a "full game" that's really a DLC to another game. Even cash ins like annual releases of sports games aren't DLC so much as updates which fill the same role as upgrading from Office 2013 to Office 2016.

I said this in another thread, but it is simply amazing the level of respect CDPR have for their customers. I may be remembering it wrong, but I heard something about CDPR sending a personal thank you note in the dvd box to everyone who orderered TW3 when it first came out. A small gesture you might think, but that level of care for their customers, actually recognising the people who invest their money in your product, is something unfortunately very rarely seen these days. It's a really nice way of communicating on a more personal level with your customers I think. More game companies need to act like this imo.

The Witcher 3 comes with a thank you note in every box as far as I'm aware. I got one and I didn't get it on release, and also got stickers, the map and more.

Want to hear about a big gesture? The CE for Witcher 2 had it's problems, in particular the bust of Geralt broke sometimes due to the packaging. I liked mine, it looked "old" because some piece of the socket broke off so I didn't complain. Others did, though.

They got sent a new bust and a wolf medallion. Just like that. Just because they wrote CDPR and said "hey, my shit is broken. Can you do something about it?"

It wasn't even announced or anything. People just started showing up who said "wtf I got this medallion in the mail, too."

Step 1: Make good shit.

Step 2: Make it easy to acquire.

Step 3: Don't be dicks.

Step 4: Profit. (Like you wouldn't believe)

[–]reliable_information 26ポイント27ポイント  (0子コメント)

It was. But is was removed in the free extended cut dlc and replaced with a proper thank you and goodbye

Yup, 100% legit. They did go back to change it later, though.

When I played the extended cut, it actually made me more upset because it was super obvious the crap they thought they could get away with the first time. In my opinion, it really showed their lack of respect for their players.

CDPR had earned a lifetime customer in me (as long as they keep with their current principals and production quality). I'll never second guess buying a full priced game from them in the future, they deserve every penny of it.

Great company, great games, can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077!

edit: Also their paid "DLC" is like entire games from other devs and they deserve the money for those too. Just fantastic. I might even consider doing a season pass from them for Cyberpunk.

As a side note, for the caliber of the Witcher 3 it´s a very cheap game comparing to other AAA titles at steam.
I would buy a remake of minesweeper if CDPR do it.

I would buy a remake of minesweeper if CDPR do it.

  • Sure, I'll sweep for mines.
  • Clear your own damn minefield.
  • Those mines aren't going anywhere, how 'bout a game of gwent?

Seeing how It's 120 hours for just the base game, I'd agree that 60 USD is very low.

If that was a call of duty it'd be hundreds of dollars.

Combine the season pass which has all the DLC and you could theoretically play for 200 hours. For about 80 dollars that's just insane.

I have huge respect for CDPR.

Welp; I tried to get into witcher one which feels extremely outdated and combat also put me off. sinked about 10 hours in it because I felt like i needed to try witcher 3... now I kind of want to skip everything and get witcher 3....

Yeah it's diffcult to get into games with outdated mechanics. They just feel so clunky but if you can appreciate it for what it is and focus on the awesome story you really enjoy it

I put the enhancement mods, the white wolf mod, tried the combat enhancement but it somehow totally broke the combat (mods amirite?) and also didnt want to bother with books so installed the all knowing mod.

I liked the game. I got into the trader quarters in chapter 3 (just started it I think) then didnt play for months. so now I get back and I am totally lost and the quest system is making me nervous because you get quests you literally cant finish until hours when you randomly get to that point. As a MMO player seeing quests lasting that long without progress triggers me lol but thats just me and n othing agaisnt the game. Story was amazing in the outskirts of the city now it feels really meh. I even asked around to see if it gets better they said I had few hours before it picks up again. meh.

Yeahh it all depends on your level of patience. I found it slow at some parts but I always found the go to persevere because of how much I like the universe. I suppose it's because I grew up reading the books so when I first got the games I was just like MAAAAAAAHHH

What do you mean quests you cant finish until certain hours? Like when a quest will say "wait until dawn to do.." or "at night go and do." ?

No like "You should find out about this" which you get at the beginning of the chapter but the NPC that tells you about it is literally at the end of the chapter. OR the "You should play the dice game with higher level people" which you just see like 3-4 hours later in the game.

I'm used to the linear "Hey dummy, do those 5-6 quests and come back for some lores and items" then you go at it again. Having 10 quests at the start of the chapter and only see them having huge quest lines makes me physically ill when I open that quest log. especially when you finish a chapter and some quests were still ongoing. I like to complete most things I do so when I miss out I flip my keyboard and don't wanna play cause fuck it i'm not restarting this.

On another note, really digging the story aspect of the game. I talk to everybody during morning, afternoon, dawn, night on every single place I go. I hate myself. Send help.

I think the problem with Witcher 1 was not many people knew/really utilized the parrying/riposte and all that.

Sadly 1 is just hard to get into even with the enhancements. Witcher 2 is a lot better in this regard, and barring a couple of callbacks the first one isn't entirely essential. I would look at reading a summary on the game and going from Witcher 2.

If it helps, Witcher 2 combat is much better and the graphics look like the game came out 5 years in the future. You can read up on the first one if you don't want to bother.

Man, I played Witcher 1 this january and despite the combat had a lot of fun with it, amazing story, but Witcher 2... I can't get into that combat. There seems to be a delay between pushing a button and him actually doing something, when he starts an action (a hit or trap placing) it can't be interrupted. Trap placing is actually so slow that by the time you do it enemies will already have reached you... For a game that's made to be hard, the controls should be really tight, but the ones in Witcher 2 just make me frustrated.

I played the first Witcher game after playing Witcher 3 and I just put it on easy and kinda rushed through it just to get the story, which is still good.

Try the Witcher 2, I started there and it's a great game that'll give you most of the background you need. Just look up the lore from TW1.

I agree, but I would also add that even if you don't love TW2, you should give TW3 a shot. I'm definitely not discouraging playing TW2 and this isn't a criticism of the game, but I didn't love TW2 and I absolutely love TW3.

Saw this advice some place else and decided to go with it. Bought Witcher 2 complete for like $5 on sale a few years back, played about 10 hours of it but could never get in to it.

Just picked up the third Witcher the other day when it was $25 on GOG. Loving it so far.

About a year and a half ago I spent several months playing Dragon Age -> Witcher -> Dragon Age 2 -> Witcher 2, all four back to back and beat all of them and sunk 50+ hours into each in anticipation of Dragon Age Inquisition and Witcher 3.

Here we are now and I have yet to play either ><

Planning on digging into Witcher 3 soon if I can ever escape Overwatch.

The Witcher mechanics are not so outdated. I mean, I played the first Gothic not long ago and just finished again the first Mass Effect. I could even play the first Deus Ex once again.

The first The Witcher is still highly enjoyable.

The combat in the first 2, especially the first is frankly garbage and seems out of place. like the games are not that old for the combat to be so bad.. Witcher 4 however has competent combat and in every other respect is IMO one of the greatest games of all time.

If it helps, I never played Witcher 1. I forced myself through 2. But 3 was the real gem. You could probably skip 1 and 2 if you want.

That's one classy studio.

I particularly appreciated the part about "hard-earned money."

Thank you CD Projekt Red.

Cyberpunk 2077

I know absolutely nothing about this game but I'm already positive I'm going to buy it.

I can't believe that trailer is 3 years old... Time flies, but not fast enough!

Man, another reason CD Projekt has broke down my walls of dev distrust and opened my heart to a company that truly cares about their product(and their player base). Please never change CD Projekt Red.

the downvote bot goes around. All people with 1 upvote. Hey that was me

I always assume it's a desperate commenter that thinks downvoting everybody else's comments make their own shitty comments stand out more.

I upvoted everyone to counterbalance your act of villainy.

until Activision buys them then releases Call of Duty : Medival Warfare - Geralt Edition 1 2, 3 and then 0.

PREORDER NOW : Get the special witcher colored sword skin! + New crossbows and aliens!

This is how you get me to Pre-Order all of your shit. Just out of pure support.

This is brilliant. Cant wait to see what they are working on next!

Cyberpunk 2077 I guess?

Maybe more!

Whatever their next project is I'll buy it. These guys are so refreshing with what you have come to expect from the gaming industry. The Witcher 3 was the best game I ever played with the best DLC I ever played. I love this studio.

Well we're all still waiting for Cyberpunk 2077....

Wow, CD Projekt Red are such a good example of game devs.

You have some companies that release season passes before the game is even out, and have like one dude spouting memes on Twitter to make it look like the devs are 'in touch with fans', meanwhile, CDPR exists.

The Division?

To name one, but it's Ubisoft.

Ubisoft is the Kai Lo Ren to EA's Darth Vader.

Kai Lo Ren looks like like a name of a french fashion designer.

Not to annoy you, but it's Kylo.

Sega?

This is giving me the premium feeling of flying first class... and I've never flown first class. This is why I've bought Witcher 3 on release even though I'm too busy to start it.

I bought W3 on several platforms just to reward one of the few developers/publishers that threat players like people not idiots and criminals.

Thanks to CD project red for setting an example and making one of the best RPGs of all time.

Same here, ordered it for both PC and PS4. CDPR is truly an amazing company. I personally sent a thank you letter back to Poland to thank them for Blood and Wine. The truly deserve all the respect they can get.

And I think we could start doing the same to other developers. Bethesda aren't criminals and empty shells, same applies to 343i, DICE Stockholm and so on. People from these teams put their lives into the games they develop and gamers shit on their face and act like apes no matter how good the games they make are

I really wish more game studios had this attitude. Although, something tells me we should also be thanking Warner Bro's for not forcing them to use shitty business practices to make a buck.

I remember buying The Witcher 3 and getting that initial thank you card and thinking "Wow, thats fucking awesome that they thanked me for buying this game."

Great company

Man. I never got into The Witcher 1 or 2 because my PC couldn't run them and I wanted to enjoy them in their full glory.

Now my PC can't run The Witcher 3 and I'll probably never play it either. My 660 meets the minimum requirements but I don't want to get a subpar experience. But hey, it's not like I can afford the game anyway.

I always think to myself "I'll play it later" but with so many good games coming out constantly you're always trading one game for another.

I got The Witcher 3 free when I bought my video card, but I have yet to play it. I think I even bought Witcher 2 on a steam sale for like 5 bucks and never installed it. So my question to you guys who have played them. Can I start with 3? Would I be better off starting with 2? Do I need to go ahead and purchase 1 if I want to play through them all properly?

They are one of the most likable game companies. It makes you really appreciate their work.

CDPR > EA + Activision + etc.

Just finished Blood and Wine last night! Oh my god what a show.

Thank you CDPR for such a wonderful game!

A company so good id have paid double for the game and dlc and done it with a smile on my face. People who have really deserved the support. Thank yous, free dlc, paid dlc worth so much more than charged, a game very stable on release, a case with an actual manual and bonuses, etc. such a rarity these days

Man I love those guys

Probably one of the best "thank you's" from a developer since Halo Reach

Personally I couldn't get into The Witcher 3, not the game for me - However, the respect CDPR have for their fans is unparalleled; it's rare to see a development studio put this much passion into their games and have respect for the gamers that play it.

All developers should strive to be like CDPR

I really need to pick up a copy of The Witcher 3. Ill set a reminder on payday.

I would play this if I could stand Geralt. I hear so much good about the game, but that guy... just can't stand him.

He seriously grows on you. I know exactly what you're saying, but especially in Hearts of Stone where... things happen and he's not quite himself, I gained huge new respect for Growly McScowlface.

The whole thing is a deeply sarcastic Shrek-like mockery of dark fantasy epics (things like Game of Thrones) that after awhile it becomes clear selling the absurdity and silliness kind of requires the growl scowl.

Trust me, I've got no time for these kinds of protagonists usually. It was a huge reason I stopped playing Shadow of Mordor, for example. With Geralt it feels different and, perhaps, meaningful.

It is meaningful with Geralt, because the Trial of the Grasses and the Witcher training is meant to strip people of their humanity.

Geralt is supposed to be a hardened monster killer, but beyond his gruff voice and attitude he has a lot of personality, a lot of core beliefs, a complex morality system, strong loyalty to the people he cares about. There's a lot of depth to him as a character that isn't immediately apparent, and sometimes only reveals itself through facial expressions he makes as opposed to dialogue, but I do really think he's an excellent protagonist, and occasionally pretty funny too.

He's such a far cry from "hard boiled RPG protag" but on the surface he definitely seems that way, but the longer you play the game and the more time you spend with him it's very easy to see the deeper levels of his character. I put off playing The Witcher for so long just because of how Geralt looked but he really does grow on you.

I played the first one where he just growled and scowled his way through the story (when the game didn't crash) and had options to basically fuck anything that moved.

I was put off. I mean, I like hot women too (although I'm not all Kirk about green women), and I can be surly.. but this guy was just a jerk.

I have 3 on my steam list. It's been on sale recently, so probably will be again. I'll pick it up and try it the next time it goes on sale. Thanks.

Edit: Words are hard.

He seriously growls on you.

I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

I can't believe I missed the opportunity.

Haha I think the same. Have watched a couple of gameplay videos but yeah ...

CD Projekt Red is the proof that you don't have to be a greedy asshole of a company to succeed in this industry. I hadn't played this game for months, and when I started it up again the menu was completely overhauled to fix fan complaints. What other company would do that?

I can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077. If they put half the love and effort into that that they did into this game. I know we'll get a killer product, and if it's not perfect on launch. They'll work until it is because they care about what they make.

Why'd they post this to Imgur instead of their own site?

This message is in the latest dl of the game after the player completes the DLC. OP took a screenshot and uploaded it to imgur.

CD Projekt Red, Naughty Dog and From Software are the best in the business right now.

I would also add Supergiant Games, the creators of Bastion and Transistor.

ThatGameCompany's my personal favorite.

Awesome games, awesome guys.

I think I'm going to go purchase this game after seeing this

CDPR just a class act all around.

Nice, only three years until Cyberpunk 2077! Can't wait!

I just want to cry right now...

I feel like CDPR has taken the mantle of "Nobody's doing it better" that BioWare had a few years ago. They continue to impress me.

CD Projekt Red went from 'who?' to 'this is my favourite group of games devs' last year. Sure, I'd played The Witcher and Witcher 2, but Witcher 3 blew me away.

This wasn't just an amazing game, this was an amazing game with unparalleled fan support. Forget all the cool stuff packaged with the game (which was also given out in spades for Witcher 2); it was the 16 pieces of free DLC, the constant patches and detailed patch notes, the extra fun, and the sheer amount of effort, intelligence and respect that went in to everything CD Projekt Red did.

Respect. That's the key here, and a think you don't hear much about from games developers any more. But CD Project Red showed that they weren't your buddies and you weren't merely their customers: they were people who valued your purchase and wanted to go the extra mile to make sure you had the best experience possible.

I know nothing about Cyberpunk or future CD Projekt Red efforts. I do know that I won't hesitate to get on board the hype train and support this ace group with my money.

The thing about the witcher is, you can feel the love this game was made with. With the level of polishment, the uncompromising execution and so much creativeness, you can see that the devs truly built this with their heart.

The witcher 4 will be as Half life 3.

[–]Lumbot 1

The next Half Life was actually a game that was being made though.

CDPR has explicitly said they are not planning a 4th game in the series.

Always go with the companies that put quality game making over trying to make a quick buck.

I really want to start playing Witcher 3, but I want to play the older games first... I bought the bundle a while back and am still working my way through.

I'm sure they've worked very hard on the title from the gameplay i've seen and the message they sent. Hopefully they'll be willing to drop a bundle in the steam sale for a nice discount; I'd have bought it at full price if I weren't on such a tight budget.

didnt really like any of the witcher games and i love fantasy

Best developer in the business.
