This particular incident sounds like an accident.

But I asked my this same question to a policeman friend of mine. He personally felt it was heavily to do with increased organised crime, specifically Asian gangs and communities which the police simply don't understand (who are supply drugs/guns from overseas etc etc)

To be honest a few of these articles have come through the /r/NZ new feed and get downvoted quickly. It is a fairly accepted position that Geoff writes clickbaity ("10 reasons you hate the Gareth Morgan foundation!, etc") rubbish.

Anyway, my comment was about how dave just posts Gareth propaganda. A troll is about stirring people up for a laugh. I'm about sharing my wisdom.

Haven't read it; I no longer give Geoff the time. If you take a look at davetenhave's previous posts though you will see plenty of criticism of previous articles from Geoff though.

  1. I have "attacked" Geoff's articles in the past. It is not very hard considering his usual clickbaity ramblings.

By, "why would anyone accept this" I mean, why would anyone work in the higher tax bracket if it was not for a tremendous more amount of money. There would basically be a whole range of salaries that made absolutely no sense.

I am not an accountant. I have explained to numerous PhD students how the progressive tax system works.

What's worse is that the "intelligent" people who don't understand it who haven't just run a few quick numbers in their head and wondered "why would anyone accept this?"

Coming from a family that was not particularly into football and growing up in NZ the only team that I was exposed to at an early age was Manchester United. They were almost literally the only team on television, and the only team/players small me really knew. I have no memories of ever liking another club.

The Green Party policy defense:

  1. Find an academic to back you up. Yell about how your solutions is 100% science and anyone who disagrees with you is a crazy mad man.
  2. Failing that, call for an immediate inquiry. How dare politicians make decisions.
  3. If options 1 or 2 aren't suitable, throw some buzz words around that appeal to the PC brigade. Anyone who disagrees with you is racist or an evil right wing bigot

The idea is okay. A centralized place to make video referee decisions as quick as possible. In reality it just gets shit wrong.
