I'll just check my crystal ball for you.

Yeah I think the plan was for Van Gaal to implement a solid foundation with giggs at number 2 so he could take over and we wouldn't have to worry about a long term solution. Pretty stupid idea tho considering Giggs would have had next to no managerial experience.

What if SAF stopped aging past 65 and stayed manager for eternity? What if scenarios aren't worth discussing because in the world of football no one cares what someone could have done. It's all about what happened and what can be done from there.

But instead post on here about players like they are own, Sanchez and Zlatan for example?

I'm saying what if scenarios aren't possible to discuss. Because they are not real. They are literally what if. Because they didn't actually happen, there is no way of saying if they were to happen what things would be like.

What I'm trying to say is that there is no way of knowing.

I think it would've depended on the position of the club at the time. If he left us as league champions then the club might've taken a chance on Giggs but if not, then I think we would've still gone for an established manager because of that argument about Giggs being inexperienced.

What if the shit posts stopped?

We'd need to spin some totems to make sure the world is actually real.

What exactly does anyone know of that Giggs did in his 2 years under LvG or 1 under Moyes that helped the squad? LvG had Albert Stuivenberg being his actual assistant. Giggs was just a spectator.

It's unfair to assume. It's unfair to assume that he played a vital part of LVG and Moyes' back room staff and it is equally as unfair to assume he wasn't. None of us are with the team day in and day out, so none of us know.

That would have been the dream scenario. Unfortunately there was little improvement

Let's hypothetically say that we got 1 more point this season, finishing fourth, while winning the FA Cup.

To the displeasure of most supporters I don't see how Van Gaal would have been sacked at that point.

Let's then hypothesize 2 scenarios:

1) The dressing room was in the midst of a crisis, then LVG gets sacked halfway through his third year, and Giggs takes over. (Possible, not probable IMO, I think this dressing room scuffle was clearly a Woodward fabrication to get full backing in sacking Van Gaal)

2) Louis stays, we sign 3-4 more improvements, and we either win the league, or (probably) have a more comfortable finish in the top 4. After that's done, Giggs gets the job.

As pointless as discussing football on a forum is anyway, this holds a better case. This literally isn't worth discussing.
