Pep really could struggle! He hasn't faced a task like this yet IMO. Previously he inherited stellar squads. Almost any manager would have been successful with Barca and when he went to Munich, they just won the bloody treble.

England is a whole different scenario altogether and City are nowhere near the sides he inherited. Whatever people say about Jose after last year's collapse at Chelsea, the man won 3 Premier League titles in less than 5 seasons in charge there, that's ridiculous!

So ye, it's an open question, I genuinely have NO IDEA how Pep will do. There is always the option of spending an absolutely wild amount of money to buy himself a stellar squad and I think that's his plan, but even at that, this isn't Spain and it isn't Germany!

The current City squad is not at all good enough to play the way Pep likes to play. He either has to make wholesale changes to the team or change his tactics. Making wholesale changes to a squad is not easy.

I'm not convinced Pep can grow a squad either. So far, he's had tailor-made squads in top heavy leagues to work with. Not to mention he was working in a massive talent pool being in the home nation of the World Cup champions for most of his career.

He can definitely build his squad over time. He is undoubtedly a world class manager.

I also think he will want his City team to be more like his Barca team. At Bayern, the fans were really frustrated with his tactics in the first season and he was forced to be more direct later on. It's part of the reason why he didn't continue at Bayern. At City he won't have such trouble because the club hasn't stood for any particular style of football in their history.

That's where I think he will have to bite the bullet and compromise on things. He will not find a Busquets like midfielder anywhere else. He is not going to find the perfect trio of Xavi, Iniesta and Biscuits again.

I want Arsenal to get top 4 because they'd continue to settle for a stagnated "alright" finish rather than sack Wenger and get an actual title challenger.

Seriously don't get how so many can be so happy with him. Yeah I get it, top 4 for so long woo, but end of the day who gives a fuck? If that's what your ceiling is (well, that and getting knocked out by Barca in the Round of 16), then something needs to go. Don't get how anyone can accept such a consistent "eh" finish when they used to be title challengers.
