Manchester United have made an approach for Pachuca winger Hirving Lozano, according to the Mexican club's vice president.

The 20-year-old is set to represent his Mexico at the Copa America this summer and has been linked with a number of European clubs.

Pachuca vice-president Andres Fassi told Record United had been in contact, saying: "There have been approaches.

“For several years Pachuca has had great relationships with many teams of England, in Portugal, in Spain, in France, in Italy and in Germany.

“There will be time to focus on the future of Hirving Lozano. There are some agreements that allow the player to go to Europe in the future.”

The youngster made his Pachuca debut in as a scoring substitute in February 2014 and has since struck 29 times in 103 appearances.

He has made three appearances for Mexico's senior team after progressing through the youth sides.

New United boss Jose Mourinho has been linked with a number of targets, including Swedish free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juventus' Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.
