My Panny RIDDIM VOX has just arrived from Japan,
turned out to be in a "boxed, like new" condition - great beast from the late 90-s.

Nice score, I would love to get one in that condition.
Thank you, retro!
A good one, right. I haven't yet have time to crank it up properly but it seems to sound great.
That is one mighty machine. Will rock your house out. I have it's brother, the SY PA 100 and it sounds extremely good.

Rock house out - well said! That's why I am going to drive Panny not in my flat but in the summer house, outdoors.
Never pay attention to SY PA 100 so far - looks great too! I am going to fill the gap in my knowledge about this machine.
looks like it mean's business
I too have the SY PA100 and it's a belter. I would love one of the Riddimvox's. Well done.

It's kind of interesting that most probably SY-PA100 was never on the domestic Japanese
market as opposed to Riddim Vox. The latter was being sold only in Japan.
I have never seen Panny SY-PA100 on Yahoo JP neither did I see Japanese 100V model listed in the manual among 120/220/230-240V ones.
Maybe maybe there was a local version, who knows, never saw that yet.
BTW, Riddim Vox is rather a common guest on Yahoo JP these days.
The versatility of having a 12v power supply with the Riddimvox is a major plus. What's the weight of these units?
Do these only work wired, only do they take batteries?
I know nothing about these but they do seem interesting!

Yep, right.
The net weights are as follows:
Riddim Vox - 11.5 kg;
PA100 - 12.5 kg (27.6 lbs).
Do these only work wired, only do they take batteries?
Only wired, neither of them can use batteries.
If they could they would have run batteries down in, I don't know, half an hour maybe at full throttle.
BTW, manuals for both you could find here:
http://shop.panasonic.com/shop...als&support#tabs
Riddim Vox's one in the Japanese only (domestic machine).
Thanks for the link with the manual MT! I just scored a Panasonic SY-PA100 too! This thing needs Bluetooth!!!

You are welcome, Michiel.
Please keep us posted on the modding of your PA100, the only close relative of RiddimVox I am aware of.

I will do MT. Big disadvantage of the PA100 is that it's lacking cassettes. Will also grab the RiddimVox if I get the opportunity
