I believe the joke was that Ru's high waist pants look like something you'd wear to keep yourself dry during a flood, hence the reference to New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. There could be a more specific reference made though, I'm not American so I'm not sure.

Bob's tooth monologue and the "everything works out in the end, and if it doesn't it's not the end" thing definitely hit home, hard. As someone struggling with insecurity and anxiety I've had to come up with coping mechanisms like that for a long time, and having it worded out so eloquently kind of puts my progress in perspective and makes me proud of being where I am today.

They're not really "looked down upon"... People need to realize that Drag Race is a televised reality competition show, even Ru herself has said several times that people need to stop taking it so seriously. BUT, because it's all those things, in order to make a lasting impression and go far in the competition, you need a personality that makes for good TV. Moping around the main stage looking sad and being all like "I just can't believe I'm here..." isn't exactly great television. Sure, Lashauwn and many other timid queens may be extremely talented, but they have ways to show that other than a cutthroat one-an-episode-elimination competition. They're not entitled to sail through the competition based on talents they don't show because they're too timid to. Unless they're Pearl. Because Pearl is sexy, and sexy makes what? Great television.

Lashauwn's elimination wasn't that extreme or shocking. Her look was pretty gag worthy, but the judges instantly clocked her for being too timid. While we got to see her snap back in Untucked, she really didn't deliver much personality-wise on the mainstage or in the challenges, hence why she was sent home.

I believe he said that if the Drag Race money covered all the cost he wouldn't have a fundraising campaign at all, which I think is so fucking commendable of him. His focus really isn't to make money, he's just trying to put good things into the world and give back as much as he can while taking as little as possible, and I love him for it.
