There has been a change in the competition rules for a short time which is:

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE UPLOADED TO IMGUR WITH YOU REDDIT USERNAME IN THE TITLE/DESCRIPTION

This is a temporary rule for the time being whilst we sort out the competition process

Welcome back Ladies and Gents to our sixth Photography competition on the sub! We have grown massively over the past month we have gained over 2642 subscribers, so welcome to all of the lovely new faces :D

How it all Works:

  • On the 30th of every month the thread (Yes this one) is posted, users NOW HAVE 20 DAYS to submit their OWN photos to the thread, on the 20th of each month there will then be a Voting thread, and users will have 10 days to vote for their favourite photo that they want to win

  • The lucky winner, as chosen by you lovely people will receive:

A trophy flair showing the date they won the competition

A place in the /r/WildlifePhotography hall of fame

Their winning photo in the sidebar for a month!

And they will get to choose the theme for the next months competition

This months theme is:

Animals in their natural environment

This means, photos of animals in their NATURAL habitat this DOESN'T include Zoos with fake habitats. The idea of this theme is to not have closeups which intrude on the animals, but a picture that gives the animal space, but also makes the competition more accessible for beginner photographers!

Entries will no longer be accepted after May 20th so get submitting below!

Common FAQs about the Competition:

  • "Does my photo need to be a photo I took during this month?"

No, you photo doesn't need to be taken during the month the competition is as there is no real way we can verify when your photo was taken. The only requirement is that your photo fits the theme for the competition and is YOUR OWN!

  • "Am I allowed to submit more than one entry?"

No, you are only allowed to submit one entry per competition so choose wisely!

A Zebra Heliconian in my backyard in Miami.

Turbulent Phosphila on it's only home/source of food a greenbrier plant. Obviously the adult moth moves on and considering it's name really likes light. The caterpillars are only seen on greenbrier.

These were really small caterpillars. For perspective I think they were all thinner than a pencil and they appeared mostly grey walking by at a stride or two away.

    Lone wolf on a bison carcass This wolf was in Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park. It slowly came in and was chased off by three coyotes about 20 minutes later.
