The primary (and possibly only) reason why console's top mods are cheat mods is because they don't have access to the console. If they did, it would be a different story.

The thing is that they always complain that PC is full of cheaters (through mods or otherwise), yet it turns out console players are very keen to have themselves some cheats.

Oh no you should see the local gaming swap page on facebool where I live. This guy was downgrading and hacking PS3s for 120$ each. He also has a "totally legit" wii with over 1200+ games and movies on it for 50$. I used to think PC was bad about Piracy, at least pirates aren't trying to resale what they stole.

Counterpoint, perhaps; the device to downgrade a PS3 runs 60+ bucks, and a Wii with controllers probably costs about $50 or so (esp. if he's including an external HDD or similar).

There is a pretty big difference between piracy (stealing games, pulling CR info, and reselling under your own name) and IP infringement (making a copy of FF6, and still attributing it to Squaresoft).

The guy's a douche, but the pirates in the 90s were far, far worse that what this guy is doing. It's sketchy, sure, but then, it may be better than someone trying to downgrade/hack their own system, and botching it, on the one hand, or outright piracy on the other.

*shrug* sliding scale, and all that.

I remember when most of my friends were gaming on consoles, pretty much all they would talk about was how to use cheatcodes and exploits to give an edge in different games, and how PC gamers were cheating in all games. I just sat there and said "Cheatcodes and exploits are not to be used, It kills the game. Likewise mods are not to be used to cheat as that also kills the game"

yes and no. I used to play GTA on ps2 like 7 years ago, and I cheated so much stuff, flying shooting dragon helicopters and shit, it was a lot of fun honestly, and without cheats it was just a boring game.

i remember when using cheats made it so the game at some point would be impossible to complete, namely mad dogg jumping off the roof instantly making the mission the end of your game.

Not sure why you are being downvoted, it's a legitimate question.
The definition of console is 'a panel or unit accommodating a set of controls for electronic or mechanical equipment.' so in bethesda games it works as a virtual console in which game controls are kept.

Yeah I love how CS:GO, Rust, TF2 are made better by mods. Whereas a console player adding console commands that exists from the get go on PC to their console version is killing the game.
