The writer of this article should see how the jack'd of my city looks like, Asian guys full of profiles asking for only Asians and even more, Taiwanesse people specifically stating that they don't want to meet with chinesse. Or the grindr black guys only into blacks and/or submissive whites yeah that's not racist... White privilege and all that...

But you know what sexual preferences are a thing and racism is other very different thing. Nobody is going to shit on you if you don't like muscular guys or fats or if you are not into a specific kink or whatever so you can have a type of people that attracts you the most but you can't have a color of skin that attracts you the most? That's hypocritical and plainly stupid.

I prefer my partners tanned so I might seek for Latinos when looking to get laid and maybe I won't look into like Nordic types or Asians does that make me racist? I don't think so...

If enough people are complaining about it, it might be worth thinking about and not simply dismissing. I don't know any person of color who hasn't had this issue. This is a common theme. Maybe people should listen?

I'd be happy to have an honest discussion about racism in the community. I have already stated before that the no chocolate/spice/rice crap is super problematic. However, this article is basically calling out every single white person, not just those that are racist, which is in itself racist, and then it tells us to check our privilege. No fucking thank you.

First of all... Privilege is a real thing. Sorry dude. Second. We all need to check our shit. We are all guilty of racism. Black white Asians whatever. This shit is on all of us.

I don't deny privilege being a real thing. But to just smugly tell someone else to check their privilege as if it's some original sin I have that you don't is bullshit. It shouldn't be that you try to take people's privilege away. The goal should be to raise the privilege of others who might have less. No one is without privilege, especially if you live in America.

It's not original sin. It's something to be mindful of. People have privilege from a variety of things. Race, gender, nationality, gender identity, sexuality, etc. We just need to be aware and not be dicks about it. We are all coded from birth to find white western ideals of beauty to be the norm. That's just how we are as Americans. We don't have to be. But when you are in a position of privilege it's easy to throw your hands in the air and say "oh that sucks, but it's not my fault so shut up about it". That's rude as fuck dude. Yeah it fucking does suck. Don't dismiss it, and we aren't going to shut up about it because it makes you uncomfortable. You will continue to see this theme over and over and over till it demo she's to a tolerable levels. Regardless of if you like the premise or not it's a real problem and if you can't contribute to the conversation constructively or aren't going to express empathy or sympathy, then you really aren't helping, you're just being defensive.

Not if the premise is white privilege. If its a conversation about racism ok if is a bashing rant about white supremacy again the author can go fuck himself.

It's almost as if we can't avoid talking about white supremacy because it's a force which dominates racial relations.

Honest question, why can't we listen/why should the author go fuck himself if he's talking about white privilege?

Because this isn't white privilege. It's insinuating that all, or most white gays do this. It's racist to lump all people of one race like that.

White privilege would be more like white gays being in more tv shows.

Thank you for answering, I can understand why that's racist. I read the article again, just to be sure I didn't miss anything the first time, and I didn't read anything that implied all or most white gays did that.

Here's One Brutal Truth Every White Gay Man Needs to Hear

That's literally the title of the article

Yes, I saw that. :) Thank you for taking the time to point it out.

I tend to see article titles as more indicative of the publishing company's objectives than the authors intent. But let me ask you this, even if the racist comments on Grinder only came from 1% of white men, wouldn't it still be true that it was a brutal truth they all needed to hear?

It's still painting it as if it's a white only problem. That they are attributing such a negative assumption, only to white gays.

Look, no one should have to see that crap (the no spice or rice) but is it really just white people? I've never seen that shit on my Grindr. I'm more likely to see no fats or femmes.

I'm glad we're in agreement on the core of the issue. I'm sorry if the headline upset you (truly, I'm not being sarcastic). I guess I don't see it the same way.

We are all racist. That's just how it is. But we need to acknowledge it before anything can change. Pretending we aren't race biased is retarded.

But you know what sexual preferences are a thing and racism is other very different thing.

And yet they can be related and society influences sexual preference as well (or is it just coincidence that black women consistently are the least likely to be contacted online?).

I'm not saying preference isn't a thing, or that all preference are racist... but there certainly is influence and typing "No blacks" IS racist. After all, a "Preference" means that there is a possibility of someone outside that preference would still be worthwhile. And if its not a preference, but a requirement, then there likely is racism involved.
